  1. I've had 2 sets on my 350, great tyre all round IMHO. Down side is I've never manged more than 9k out of a set, there's always going to be trade off...

    Lost deposit?

Well, just to put closure on this subject. After numerous emails and telephone calls to the dealership, of which all were ignored, they did eventually get in touch. Having sought advice I was informed that all I was responsible for was the cost of any repair work carried out, as per my previous posts I had never not been willing to pay this. I did however question the £475+vat cost of painting a door. The sum I offered has been accepted by the dealer, somewhat less than £500. I could have called the credit card company, filed for a disputed payment and in all likelihood paid nothing back, not my way. There was nothing in T&C re non refund of deposit. I have over the years bought many cars and bikes through dealerships and had it has always been a trouble free, in many cases bordering on a pleasurable, experience...there were many things that turned this episode into a less than pleasant one. To all that had offered advice I thank you, whether it was in the positive or the perceived negative!

Thanks Will, throughout all this your avatar has always made me smile, awsome. Possibly cos it's a dead ringer for a mate of mine...

    Lost deposit?

For the record, I'm not disputing that the dealer should be reimbursed, I do however fail to see that a single panel respray should cost in excess of £500. I am aware I have to pay for the work carried out, and that's all I'm liable for. I'm also fully aware that the dealer fails to reply to any of my efforts to contact them, email or phone calls. It doesn't bode well that it's been resprayed not once but twice now... Factor in the "yeah it's mint, no car park dings at all..." Defect on the door and resprayed wheels, in black, just because they thought it would look good. With hindsight I should have walked away, hands up my fault.

Just want to say that all the advice received is greatly appreciated, I'll give it a go.

    Lost deposit?

I fully agree with the posts above, I understand my position with regards to the deposit but I do consider £475 plus vat to be a bit excessive. The panel required no filling etc just rubbing down and respraying.

    Lost deposit?

Thanks guys for you replies, to be honest that's how I envisaged it also. Just feeling a bit miffed at the cost of resraying the panel, £500, and having to lose that amount from my deposit. Seems a bit steep.
  9. I'm not too sure as to just where I stand with this; I recently called a dealer with regards to an advert for a Z, prior to travelling to see the car I asked all the relevant questions along with "barring stone chips is it dent free?" and the answwr was "yes, it's perfect". Anyway, went to see it and straight away noticed a previously 'worked' dent, not happy as I'd pretty much decided it was the car for me. The dealer offered to repaint the panel and I agreed under the proviso that it was a flawless finish. After several follow up phone calls from the pushy salesman to seal the deal I agreed to part with a deposit and paid this with my credit card. A few days later my personal circumstances changed and unfortunatley I was no longer in a position to go ahead with the sale. I called the dealer immediately to be told that as the repair had been carried out I would lose most of my deposit, I would not however be liable for the fact that the first respray was poor and the car was having to be re-worked. Does anyone know, or can offer advice as to how I stand with this? Obviously I don't want to cause any ill feeling with the dealership but at the same time would appreciate not having to lose a substantial sum of money.
  10. Thanks for thats Alex, shame as my black 20mm anodised spacers are as new...I will however be removing the Stillen Gen3 from the 350. Are the Eibachs available in black? And so the mods begin!
  11. As above, are these the same fitment? I've decided that the 350 is to go and I pick up a 370 next monday, I only hope it's as good! Any info would be greatly appreciated.
  12. I keep threatening to work out........................ Well that's about all I am doing, apart from the weekend I spent at the MotoGP...
  13. I'm currently working out in OZ, want to go and see the new Bond film but have promised the missus I'll wait 'till I get back then we can both go...not sure I can keep to that.
  14. You'll love this...I met mine when I went to the bank to draw the money out to buy my 350Z. Long story short; whilst waiting, the Bank Mananger insisted upon doing an account review for me, basically made me a cup of coffee whilst I read her paper and she 'sorted' out my account. A year to the day we got married, the only downside is it's not easy to run a slush fund for the car and bike and keep it hidden
  15. Silver 350 just outside Koo Wee Rup, been here a week and it's the first one I've seen down here.
  16. That's a good price, do you have any modifications? Er, a total of three fillings, one of them was root canal job...not nice
  17. Just renewed my 350Z online, £284 so well chuffed.

    Gearbox oil

+1 Get some oil from him, change it, feel the difference...
  19. +1 And I've been sat here waiting for a torrent of abuse, just prised 'em off the car and sprayed them with lighter fluid to appease people How about a group buy? Steve at RS? I've been tempted for a couple of years but never took the plunge. They definitely more aggressive if your car suits it. I'd be interested in a GB for good quality ones at the right price. I imagine that 'good quality and the right price' will, as always, be difficult to achieve. Personally, good quality and sod the price is the way to go

  21. Go for it! I realise it's a matter of taste but if you like 'em do it. I've a pair in CF on my Night Blue and they follow the bonnet/wing line perfectly, they don't affect the headlight beam and I like the fact that they reduce the area of headlight...I've seen auariums with a smaller capacity of the Zed headlight unit, far too big IMHO. I also need a new pair as some tosser tried to steal one and failed, managed to crease it slightly though.
  22. Nice 350 in GM with some wheels, not sure on the type though. I was stuck in traffic in a taxi, just got back into the UK and had seen plenty of 350's in Brisbane over the previous 15 days.
  23. Nope, Lifeboat Tech. Plenty of really nice Zeds in Brisbane!
