  1. American headlights are pointing the opposite way to ours as they are LHD. You would either have to apply beam benders (the little stickers that cut off part of your beam), or modify the cutoff yourself. I think your best bet is to wait until a set of facelift bi-xenons become available, as they have the little strip of LEDs and have much, much better light output from the projectors. The pre facelift headlights are like going back in time to my old Audi S3 in terms of xenon lighting; can't see s**t!
  2. The "My phone number and My Email" bits are added on by Pistonheads email system, nothing to do with the sender. The "big" email addresses are probably pure coincidence, but the second guy doesn't deserve a response because of his opening gambit of "now then mate". I mean it's all well and good saying it if you're from the NE, but who actually greets unknown people like that via email?
  3. This is the problem I'm afraid. There are so many RX-8s with engine problems, buggered CATs, faulty auto levellers but because they are dirt cheap buyers are drawn in by them. Mine is a 54 plate with only 46k on the clock and drives beautifully, but naive buyers just aren't interested because why would they buy mine for £4k when you have back street garages and clueless private sellers desperate to get rid at £3k?
  4. I've been trying to sell my RX-8 for nearly 6 months. I win
  5. Judging from your previous posts you have the pre-facelift regular xenons which do not have the LEDs. I'm not sure what you mean by the extra illumination though.
  6. Personally, I would not use anything other than fully synthetic oil. The previous owner of my car put the wrong type of oil in, and it's caused a top-end rattle somewhere . For the sake of saving a few quid, I'd rather use the best oil I could find which offers the most protection.
  7. You are a cretin and a simpleton. I genuinely hope you don't buy a Zed because under your ownership it's credibility and prices will take a sharp tumble. Unless you're willing to act like a civilised person and not some immature codpiece, kindly GTFO.
  8. I actually thought you meant a Peugeot 309!
  9. There's a lot of misconceptions about the RX8, and having owned (still have both actually) both the RX8 and Zed, they are very different. The Mazda is far more nimble and feels like a go kart, the Nissan feels heavier and a lot bigger. The RX8 is very practical for what it is, the Zed...not so much. Both have very different engines, one is a big, lazy bruiser the other is a high-revving little psycho. I've had my RX8 for a year and it's never caused me any problems at all which I'm surprised about given its reputation. Fuel consumption is worse than the Zed though and it uses slightly more oil although surprisingly little for a rotary. The whole engine-flooding thing can be a pain in the arse I imagine, but I've never flooded it as it's fairly easy not to; don't switch off unless the engine is suitably warm! If you do decide to go for an RX-8, beware there are a lot of lemons about with low compression, buggered CATs and faulty sensors. They are dirt cheap now too, mine is up for £4150 and it's a 54 plate with 46k on the clock. That's about 50% less than the equivalent 350Z
  10. £40 of fuel got me 93 miles in my RX-8 the other day, so I win (or should that be lose)?
  11. Kings of Leon - Youth and Young Manhood The Black Keys - Brothers The Pixies - Doolittle Justin Timberlake - Futuresex/Lovesounds The other two are compilations. Summary:
  12. I was going to suggest that you should check the little window lock button, but then I was like "Nah, no one's that dozy!" Glad to see you finally got one, now all you need to do is change those alloys!
  13. As I repeatedly try and make sense of this garbled nonsense my face looks like this:
  14. The factory Sat Nav is garbage. Pure garbage. Although it's strangely alluring to unsuspecting buyers who don't realise the shittiness of such an archaic system.
  15. I'd hate to see what you would do if something serious had happened to your car.
  16. To be honest, I've been very tempted to take it out of the garage and just take it for a blast up the dual carriageway just opposite my house, but I'd be absolutely bricking it what with no insurance so I'm not going to bother. I actually bought it around three months ago, but the seller started getting impatient so I had to collect it 6 weeks ago. I never imagined it would take so long to sell my RX-8; it's been advertised consistently since the end of October!
  17. I can sympathise with you mate, I bought my 350Z around 6 weeks ago and it's been sitting in the garage since, as I have to shift my current car before I can transfer the insurance over. I start it up and give it a bit of a clean every Sunday, but that just makes me want to drive it even more!
  18. I currently have both. The Zed is a lot better in nearly every respect apart from practicality. RX8 - Handles like it's on rails (in the dry), nice interior, well equipped BUT appalling fuel consumption (I've averaged 14mpg in a year), unreliable engine, problems with rust, engine easily flooded, sounds like a hairdryer, no torque and is driven mostly by women. I really regret buying it now, as it's proving impossible to sell as well. 350Z- Looks fantastic, sounds great, well equipped in GT spec, gets compliments everywhere you go, better on fuel than RX8, uses less oil and faster, BUT interior is low-rent, clutch is a weakpoint, is massively impractical and that's about it. I should have bought the Nissan in the first place or as the saps on the RX8oc say: "A fat Datsun".
  19. Mine's still sitting in the garage, and has been for a month or so as I need to sell my other car first
  20. Glad to see you managed to find a good one. Looks great, I'll probably see you around.
  21. Only a complete arse takes up two bays when parking. It's just arrogant and sticks out like a sore thumb which makes your car more liable to vandalism. The only thing you can do, is park well away from the rest of civilisation. As an aside, people always inspect their car when they come back from a supermarket and notice the dents, which very likely have been made before but this is the first time you've noticed it.
