  1. It annoys me that I can't get insured on this yet
  2. On the subject of xenon headlights; I recently took a UK 54 plate for a test drive, and when the lights come on they don't seem to visibly rise or perform an alignment check. Is this right? Most cars I've had with xenons, you can clearly see the beam go down and then level back up again. With my old S3 it wasn't as obvious but you could still hear the motors and see the beam move slightly, but with this 350Z nothing happened. Do the pre-facelift models use an archaic levelling mechanism? A video of what I expected to happen:
  3. Simple solution here; don't buy it if it concerns you that much, rather than throwing a hissy fit on here. I'd be pretty offended if I was Damon, and it's not great that you've already named and shamed despite not having any concrete evidence of unscrupulous behavior from the seller.
  4. I expect people to be slightly deluded, as it is their pride and joy in most cases, but the RX8 OC just plainly don't accept any criticism of the RX-8. Because it revs to 9500RPM and handles so well you should just deal with the engine failures, CAT failures, atrocious MPG...I could go on.
  5. Right, that's settled it. I'm getting the 350Z as my next car! I bought an RX-8 over a 350 very recently and I'm beginning to regret it as it is horrendously thirsty and high maintenance. I've had a variety of uneconomical cars like the Golf R32 and the Audi S3, so thought I'd be prepared for the notorious RX8. But it's giving me around 85 miles from 25 litres which is in the low 15's for MPG which is, quite frankly, ridiculous. My work is only 4 miles away so before £30 worth of fuel could easily last me 5 days and that was going to and fro from mates houses, football, gym etc, but now I'm filling the tank up for £66 each time and getting a paltry 180 miles. Apparently this is normal for the type of driving I do To be quite honest, the fuel economy combined with the general unreliability and so-so performance has put me right off. To top it off the RX8 OC is full of deluded, boring fools anyway! I should have bought the 350Z!
