  1. I can help. Current rate is £320 a day
  2. FFS, that's so cheap! I dread to think what mine's worth as it's got double the mileage
  3. What happened to your engine?!
  4. How much did they set you back if you don't mind me asking?
  5. Getting about 18-20 mpg, mostly with short journeys.
  6. I used to live in Forest Hill in Lewisham, and I think it was the only part of London where driving wasn't massively stressful. It was more like driving in any regular town rather than a crowded city full of overworked sales reps.
  7. This is being sold by none other than Imran_VXR if anyone cares to remember his infamous thread on the VXR220 forums. These guys are as dodgy as hell, they've been known to get accident damaged cars from Japan and fix them up while passing them off as undamaged, mint condition cars. I wouldn't be surprised if this was the same. I've seen this car in the flesh and it looks decent enough, but I'd never buy from Customize or whatever they're called. The owner drives like a complete tit as well, so you know every car he has, has been abused to within an inch of its life.
  8. Guys I just bought this fantastic Aston Martin DB9. Pretty fancy, huh?
  9. As above, saw a 54 plate Gunmetal coupe with GT4 alloys right outside the College. It was around 5.30 PM today (Wed 15th). Tried getting their attention, but was unceremoniously ignored Anyone on here?
  10. The G Man has saved me a lot of typing. I have an RX-8 still, and the Nissan , in my opinion, is a far better all rounder than the Mazda. I never got one with mine; the novelty of 14mpg and rotary 'foibles' wore thin very quickly for me. It's also suffered massive depreciation recently because of its issues (perceived or not) and is partly the reason why I can't sell it for love nor money. I've driven a 370Z and I have to say it was awesome. It' still relatively rare, the interior is great, it's comfortable, fast, sounds great and is not a killer to service or fuel. It's certainly a bit more grown-up than the 350 but that's to be expected. The one I test drove (cheers Nissan for the 24hr joyride) was in pearl white with anthracite alloys, and it certainly stood out. I've never seen so many envious glances while filling up. The only thing you'll miss about the Mazda is the extra rear seats, in nearly every other sense the Nissan will beat it hands down. The rotary is a flawed concept, and to me it's simply not worth the hassle of using it every day. A lot of RX8 owners on the OC are very insecure and touchy if you dare criticise the car, too. One of the veterans recently chopped in his RX-8 for a Mazda3 Sport and was derided for choosing a 'bland eurobox'. I specifically remember The G Man putting some of them straight though +1 I could never quite understand the point of driving a car with 2.5 liter performance and 5 liter V8 fuel consumption.........then again me and the 8 didn't get on at all. My uncle has an E60 M5 and he's averaged 18mpg over 4,200 miles, and this is mostly short journeys with a weekly trip to Bristol from Gatwick. I've averaged 14mpg in 5,000 miles (mostly town driving) in my RX-8. Best I've managed was 20mpg on a 90 mile journey. So a 500bhp V10 is more economical than a 1.3 with 230 bhp! There are very few cars that have a thirst for fuel like the RX-8, which is all the more puzzling when you consider its modest performance (the 192 and 231 have similar MPG figures). Can you imagine getting a constant 15mpg from a car with 192bhp?
  11. I had a three-door MK4 R32 in black when I was 20, and it was the best car I've ever owned. It really was fantastic; the noise, the character and the exclusivity of the car combined with the solid VW interior and engineering made the car a real treat. It wasn't great on fuel, and thieves absolutely love them but I really enjoyed owning one. Maybe it was because I was fairly young and it was the first really powerful car I had, but it's the only car I regret selling. Just look at how they hold their value as well, definitely a future classic. Maybe you'll find it underwhelming or mundane, but personally I thought it was great. Go out and test drive one.
  12. I bought mine off a guy on eBay. Cost £700 cash, but I sold the iPad for £600 (also on eBay) to a guy in Latvia, so it was only an additional £100.
  13. Just bought a Galaxy Tab 10.1 and it's bloody brilliant. Cost a fair bit though, but I'm a sucker for new gadgets I had an iPad2 before (which I sold to fund the Galaxy Tab) and the Samsung is far, far better and allows you much more control over what you do and the content on it. The iPad is good for games and messing around on, while the Samsung is actually usable for real things.
  14. I have an RX-8 for sale It is very, very thirsty, but if you're doing low mileage it won't be too bad. Budget for around 20mpg doing 50:50 urban/motorway driving. They are dirt cheap now, partly because of the thirst. The engines aren't known for their longevity, but there are many that have gone on past 100,000 miles. Most examples are low miles as you'd have to be mad to use an RX-8 for a long commute, not because the engines blow. Some engines have blown at 30k and others at 60, 70, 100k etc. Mine is at 46k and has been absolutely fine, and I see a fair amount of RX-8s about so they aren't all dead yet.
  15. I had a CAT D Golf R32 which was stolen recovered, no damage or anything like that. Bought for £9k in Jan '08 and sold for £9k in December '08. Great car, and it sold within days to the first buyer. People are always on the hunt for bargains so as long as the price is right when you come to sell there'll always be a buyer.
  16. Try selling an RX-8 then! I've been trying to shift it since Christmas, and even when it's sold (deposit left) both time the buyers never followed up.
  17. Now this is a thread I can really get behind! I really, really hate it when people come on to forums and post nonsensical replies in a semi-literate fashion. Now, I'm no journalist nor am I an old-timer being in my early 20s, but how difficult is it to articulate yourself in the correct manner? It genuinely seems like people have two modes: work mode and non-work mode, and their excuse for bastardising our great language is "oi m8 i been writing all gud n propa at work all day this aint a english forum'. Surely, if English is your first language, what you write shouldn't require any extra effort from you to be legible? These are the most basic and common errors that even most 10 year olds would pick up on straight away: [*:3iwl5liv]Your and you're - Stop confusing these you colossal bumwashers, it's simple enough to understand. [*:3iwl5liv]They're, their and there - Again, pretty easy to distinguish between them. [*:3iwl5liv]Could of - Could of? Could of?! Could OF?! Are you kidding me?! It's could have, i.e. that simpleton could have really embarrassed himself there with his atrocious use of the English language. [*:3iwl5liv]Loose instead of lose - The two words have completely different meanings, they are most certainly not interchangeable. [*:3iwl5liv]Women instead of woman - Woman: singular, Women: plural. See this all the time, it's ridiculous. Yet I see the above mistakes every single day, and it's not done out of ignorance generally it's just pure laziness.
  18. £7k is a bloody good price for that. Prices have dropped a lot it seems! If he's dead set on £7k then that's up to him, and I'm sure he'll find a buyer very quickly for it. I'd not insult him by taking £6750 if he's already explicitly said no lower than the asking price. He may knock off £50-£100 which is not a massive amount but it could go towards tyres. I honestly don't think it'll stick around too long at that price.
  19. That second link on AutoTrader seems a bargain. The first one not so much, unless you really, really want a white one.
  20. You can buy my RX-8 if you like? It doesn't seem to want to leave me
  21. I'm not that far away from you, may bump into you on my travels.
  22. As above, a genuine LED tail light from a facelift Zed. Drivers side. P/N 26555-CF50B The light has never been put on a car, it was damaged in transit. It's cracked near the top, and has a small chip right at the bottom. The LEDs are completely fine and untouched, I've tested them and they still work, so it's only the cosmetic damage which can only be seen if you are staring right at the light. If you can find a matching passenger side light you'll have saved a ton of money, as these usually fly off the shelves at £200. I'm looking for £50 including delivery.
  23. Ended now, otherwise I would have snapped them up
