Lapz

Well after two and half years of very happy ownership I finally parted with my Zed this evening. Given the combined household petrol bill had been sat at £700 a month for the last year I thought letting her go would be easy (not least as I landed a really tidy Golf GT TDI 150 to replace) alas having held it together watching someone else drive it away was horrible. Sent it on its way asking that the new owner please don't wrap her round a tree and now she's gone. From chatting to the guy for best part of an hour I have no doubt has gone to a good home which makes me feel slightly better. Anway for you stat boys n girls who track such things in the market, was a 56 plate Black GT with 64k on the clock and went for bang on £9k. Whilst I may not unfortunately have got round to getting to meets which was definitely my plan when first bought just want to thank those who put a lot of time and effort into making this site such a good resource, was much appreciated. Also special thanks to ZMANALEX who bailed me out of a potentially nasty dealer bill not so long back. Laterz folks

Ouch yeah, mates got one and appreciate makes Zed look like a moderate drinker and then you add all the oil costs in too! Anyway off on the annual pilgrimage tomorrow, cruising around Lemans in the old mans Carrera 4 bound to bring a smile to the face

Thanks all, glad I'm not going completely mad! As for the details it's a 56 plate GT in black. Got it on at £10,800 ono. Has done 60k but it's got full Nissan Service History whilst in warranty and since been looked after by TGM Sport Racing in Fleet who anyone round this way will know are excellent (I picked up the rec for them on here!). Am I a long way out on price as I'm only going off prices I've seen on the various sales sites, which I now guess are possibly not selling?

So had my Zed up for sale for a month and a half and only had 1 chap ring about it who changed his mind before even viewing and another chap who asked how much a tax disc was and never heard back (excluding all the usual spam of "genuine" overseas paypal buyers, who have very interesting English!). After a month on Autotrader went and dropped over a k and stuck up on Pistonheads but heard nothing in two weeks. Tell me I'm not alone?!?!

Unfortunately it's been kicking out a P2A03 code for one of the O2 sensors and is now kicking out a P0430 "catalyst below efficiency bank 2". Nissan when ran diagnostics have said it's the left bank that's gone and likely causing all that. MOT runs till Oct so not really fussed on that front, just need to sell it, hence need to fix and get rid of the pesky recurring amber EMS light on the dash!

All, Your help much appreciated, was just about to put the Zed up for sale due to having spent more on fuel than on mortgage the last two months due to change of job (no doubt many of you in same boat at present!) and the left bank of the Cat has had it. Took it into the dealers and credit where due they've very fairly said look around for an aftermarket as they're quoting £1,040 to sort, £855 of which is for the Cat itself and they appreciate I just want it sorted so can sell it. Anyone any recommendations bearing in mind not looking to uprate or mess around with working bits? I'm based Basingstoke so if anyone knows of garage could do for less nearby (I'll prob give TGM Racing a shout who I've used before but want to grab the part first if at all possible and take it into them). Thanks in advance for any help given. Alternatively if anyone wants a 56 plate GT spec in black with 57k on the clock at discounted price of £11,500 with a duff Cat please let me know, Cheers

Just had P2 done at West Way Basingstoke and quite frankly very impressed. They didn't stick me in a Micra for a laugh as a courtesy car (free) which was a good start, shame they wouldn't let me have the 370 out front but then that was really hoping, lol! Very polite, kept informed and even got a txt when all complete. Prices seem reasonable and even put decent enough oil in it and not at a rip off price at all. Cheeky so n so's did charge me for filling washer bottle when I'd done that last night myself but I'll let £1 slide. Maybe I'm easily pleased but much better experience than I'd had with Fiat dealerships in the past?!

Hey, gd to hear from you. Got 56 Ebisu Black so see you around. Yeah moving from Punto to the Z was interesting especially learning to drive on ice and snow straight away (thankful to many wasted/well spent yrs on Sega Rally)!! Worse is when need the extra seats and have to drive the Punto, not least since the missus remodelled passenger door on a post the other month (she def ain't driving the Z). Cheers for the heads up about West Way, was little concerned given mixed reviews I'd read on here but will make sure am prepared when have to visit. Thinking might get the modding bug year after, cash allowing, so can give them a miss from there on in. See you around.
