  1. Just taken these off of my zed, they do not hold up the standard bootlid no more, so thought that they may be helpful for a carbon lightweight hatch. they need 2 new 'cups' on the end as they had to be cut off. not sure if anyone will be interested in these. ill give it a week then throw them away just asking you to cover postage. shouldnt be much
  2. how much are you willing to spend?
  3. my rotary is smooth and is easy to control. take it back if you still have to receipt

  9. Did you ask him to do It on a Sunday because you wasn't there? If so then you have no argument that he wants double for a Sunday
  10. scorpion all the way matey, ive got a japspeed. its crap
  11. well then in that case get your quotes from a pole or lithuanian, or a washer monkey whos just done his 6 week intensive course, then put the money you saved to one side because your going to need it to call back the tradesman to correct their mistakes.
  12. Responsibility! Fair enough. So where do you stand on gas fitters? They have a responsibility too, as if they get it wrong they could kill far more in one go than the single person a surgeon could. Everyone has there worth, I agree with that. Consultants deserve there pay, gas fitters probably deserve there pay as they have extra skills, responsibilities, qualifications etc. the same applies to structural engineers, pilots, etc. but for a joiner to charge what they do is wrong. How would you know what a joiner charges, you paid someone who isn't a joiner £300 to lay some laminate in 7hrs Just admit it this isn't a rant at tradesmen at all it is just you realising you are a tool and admitting it on here for us all to enjoy Wrong, I talking about all the tradesmen I've used recently. surely a bit of common sense required, if all the trades you ask to give you quotes are as you say too expensive doesn't that give a clue that its the going rate???
  13. Exactly I worked as a painter decorater once and quoted a job to paint 2 coats of gloss the woman said it was too expensive so just do one coat which I did cutting the quote.... Then she said it looked crap and needed another coat but didn't see why she should pay for it..... thinking back must have been Stuarty's Mum
  14. It's things like this that make me not want to do private jobs for people anymore, it's not worth the hassle, I can guarantee that you would be complaining more if you paid him 150 and he f***** up your flooring. It's like Stella Artois, reassuringly expensive, usually you get what you pay for, he probably sees himself as worth that money because he is good at his job. Where as if you had someone come round and start dropping money off left right and centre then there usually crap. Like you said he did a good job so it doesn't matter whether it took him 7 hours or 7 days you got a quality installation where he probably didn't cut corners trying to get it done and out the door.
  15. It was called a night with the stars if anyone wants to watch it on Iplayer, it's a repeat, I think it was on a couple of years ago about Xmas time, loved it then and found it just as enjoyable last night, couldn't get my head around some of it but was really interesting.
