  1. You have tried the load button and selected the cd slot you want to load to i assume? But its doing nothing. If not have a read of the manual chap if you have one. (Sorry if you already have!) Otherwise first port of call would be previous owner and ask them about it! Secure... Not sure about
  2. My understanding is that under heavy use the expansion and contraction as the disks warms and cools can cause stress fractures round Drilled holes. If you look at manufacturers sites you tend to find the slotted are recommend for track but the drilled are not. I imagine the temeperatures achieved in normal road use are not as likly to cause this problem so pretty "drilled" discs can be used. If you like the look but dont want to worry about cracks some manufacturers off "dimpled" discs where the hole isnt drilled through - cant remember who though.
  3. Seen similar before. Nice idea but id worry as to how a manual override would work im case of an emergency or electrical failure. That and squashing a cat hiding under the car or forgetting about a curb. That and the dress sense in that promotional vid
  4. Reading that i wouldnt let halfords near my nephews lego let alone a my car. worryingly i had a similar experience a few years back with different franchise
  5. Have a read of this viewtopic.php?f=17&t=23843
  6. ARB drop links are the prime suspect - thats what mine were - not an expensive job.
  7. Depends on your priorities. The gt had leather seats and the uprated bose - rays alloys are an upgrade too. But if none of that is important then you can save a bit with standard model. I have the GT but nothing majorly different in spec. Newer models have more power and a different bonnet I would have a read of the forum/wikipedia... I didnt become a member till i had the z and would have held out i think if i had read the faqs etc There are imports around as well which can save a bit more but insurance may be slightly higher and there are more variants that can be confusing. Check out the cars for sale section for ideas of what to expect for your money. And if modifications take your fancy you may find one with all the hard work done for you

    Rear Spoiler Repair

Where is the crack and how long is it? Ive had mine repaired. Took a couple of visits and cost about 100 inc spraying. Position of the crack will be a factor in how easy it to repair.
  13. My sister works for the red cross down in London. I know they are run off their feet at the moment. We could be seeing one of the worlds most powerful economic and technological powers fold. If it was us would we cope as well? I hope we would act with dignity they have on the face of disaster. On the item for the collection. Could we have a little interior window graphic as opposed to a band? A black jap rising sun flag or something like that - im sure they could be done very cheaply on a small run to maximise funds. The bands are ok but something flying the flag proudly in defiance. Just an idea. Either way im happy to donate. Well done chaps.

  15. Bledin hell didnt expect a mention on here! Cheers chap.
  16. Breathers have been recently replaced i believe. Dunno about turbo pipes but the hissing happens on idle so no boost. Its a mk4 i think dom and oil is where you say i believe. Not sure how related it is. Couldnt find any snakes Ill have a word tomorrow.
  17. Don't know if any of you chaps can help. Mate with a golf GTI is making a slight a hissing noise - he thinks it is coming from the cam cover and thinks the gasket has gone. The question is is there preasure in that top part of the engine that would result in the gentle hissing. He has eliminated breather pipes & turbo so is running out of ideas. He is getting a small amounn of oil round the top of the spark plugs (not the bit that is in the cylinder) which he thinks might indicate a gasket leak in where the cam cover attaches but we are not sure if air in this area is under preassure - or why it wouldn’t vent through a breather (breather is clear an new). Idle is a bit interemittent but nothing drastic. Ideas people?
  18. Well i suppose my insurance should be coming down then but if the statistics say otherwise.... what are they playing at! Personally i think insurance should solely be absed onj how safe you as an indervidual are and your premium will be based on how many and what value your insurance claims are. That way if males typically cause £4000 and females £2000 after they will end up paying a premium based on the value of their previous accidents and only initially will you have a the same premium across the sexes. Justa hightened form of the current situation. Now the annuity rates... thats worrying and mental...
  19. The Bluetooth adapters crop up for sale on here and ebay regulaly. See viewtopic.php?f=32&t=46104 and viewtopic.php?f=31&t=45605 With regards to changing the head unit - think from other threads ive read that aftermarket units can not normallybe used with the onboard hands free stuff. Im sure someone will come along and confirm this tho.
  20. Im with Admiral Multicar. My insurance was cheaper by £50 this year than last year. And they shaved £150 of Kirsty's insurance! Plus to line up the insurance dates they have promised to keep my premium the same for the 5 or so months at the end of this year so both insurance policies renew at the same time. Nismo Spoiler is covered I think I pay an extra 20 quid roughly for that.
  21. I did a search and found this viewtopic.php?f=35&t=22320&hilit=rear+strut+remove as with how to stop it... i can only think try some sort of padding or some sort of sticky insulation foam (like used in windows) to try to stop it moving... Or would it be better increasing play to precent rubbing? Good luck and be careful chap not to break anything
  22. Is it definatly internal? If its just a piece of internal trim it could be a bugger to track down unless you can get it to squeek when stationary and you can listen round the car. When mine squeeked it was the drop links. But it did sound internal. Try listening for it withthe windows down.
  23. http://www.topgear.com/uk/car-news/niss ... 2011-02-09 Looks pretty..... But will it work?
