  1. thanks for the link - that does sound pretty sweet...
  2. R35LEE Do you know any good car audio/satnav shops in Teesside? I'm considering a Nurrish system but I just want to go and look at some options and the costs involved before I go down a definite route. Cheers.
  3. thanks - this makes sense but would it lead to a physical obstruction inside the CD slot preventing CDs being entered???
  4. I've taken a look and I dont see anything obvious that's stuck unfortunately. R35LEE - I'm in Ingleby Barwick - I'm not sure there's much to be done with this (I still wonder whether the SECURE message that displayed once on the radio, which was at the same time as the second key failing has something to do with it - but I'd love to be wrong). So if you were still willing to have a quick look then I'd really appreciate it - I could come to you or meet you somewhere inbetween...? Many thanks.
  5. thanks both Yep, I've been through the owners manual (dont have a specific Bose manual - wonder if I can 'google' one??)) And in terms of a stuck button...interesting, I'll take a look in the morning. Cheers!
  6. Having had my 2005 350z for less than a week I'm still driving around just listening to the engine. However, I just tried to insert a CD in to the 'CD slot' and realised that there is no way of getting a disc in there - there is a flap of some sort physically preventing a CD to be inserted. (It's the BOSE version). Anyone come across this? Its not much of an issue as I intend to replace the unit eventually but it is irritating. Not sure if this is linked but when I first got the car - I realised that one of the keys would not start the engine - it would start the radio etc but not get passed the immobiliser (the key is being replaced this week) - one of the things I remember seeing when playing around with the key was the word "SECURE" on the radio message panel. The radio still works fine - but as I say there is no way to get a CD in to the slot. Any help/advice?
  7. Hi - this a very apt thread for me - you only ever get one first day with your first 350z - and mine is tomorrow
  8. many thanks - a kid on christmas eve...that's what I am at the moment. i noticed on another thread that you had the nurrish system - do you mind me asking - did you install it yourself or have nurrish fit it? I'm near Middlesbrough so it's a little bit of a treck to the midlands to get it fitted - so, given that I wouldnt dream of trying to install it myself (ZERO track record for ANY form of DIY) - then do you think I'd be able to find some independent chap locally to install it...and if so what do you think would be a reasonable price?
  9. by way of a quick update - I took the bait and bought the 05 350z GT spec - pick it up during the week one of the things i need is sat nav - but having seen a thread on here about a nurrish system I am now warming up a PM for the good fellow anyone know if he is still active and selling his ICE kit? thanks - and here's to a good week!
  10. thanks Pete you're spot on - the dealer told me the 2006 car was still the 280BHP model - however what didnt dawn on me until you just mentioned it was therefore the impact on road tax...so thanks for that. in terms of price - they claim (i had to speak to both separate dealers even though they are under the same dealership name) that the Evans H pricing policy means that they are priced now rock bottom against other cars nationally at the same reg/spec and therefore they claim they wont budge an inch on price... ...actually having looked at hundreds of adverts i tend to agree the cars are fairly priced - but paying full sticker price would never be an option for me - I couldnt tell the wife i didnt get them to drop a penny... any thoughts on the prices?
  11. super - many thanks, exactly the type of insight/second opinion I need. really appreciate it. I wont be changing the car at all (apart obviously from anything needing replaced).
  12. Many thanks all. Basically I got 'research blindness' - I must have read this forum for 48 hours non-stop...making then re-making my decision. So I was in no fit state to buy an ice cream never mind a 350z at the end of it. So...I have 2 current options...both from Evans Halshaw (which is another complicating factor after seeing some comments on here directed at that dealership!) if anyone has a spare 2 mins and would care to comment pros and cons then I'd really appreciate it...hopefully the links will work... http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... ?logcode=p and http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ ... ?logcode=p
  13. wow that took 2 minutes for my fears to be allayed. Much obliged chaps - really appreciate it. And apologies for posting in the wrong forum.
  14. Hi As above - I have a 4x4 for family duties and am hoping to buy a 350z tomorrow from a local garage for some 'me time'! Its an 05 reg, FSH, GT version (leather, bose etc) and has around 60k miles...and it will sell for £9,400. The miles are my only concern. Would someone comment and let me know if I'm being ridiculous obsessing over the mileage? I was hoping for sub 40k miles but this car is literally just around the corner from me from a reputable garage and it would save me a lot of travelling to other cars/garages etc. My plan was to go for an Impreza STi (I had a WRX when I was younger) - but when I got there the STi was parked close to the 350z and suddenly all my mates warnings about looking like a boy racer/chav/yobo in an STi were confirmed...the 350z looks grown up, has real presence and looks wise just blows the subaru out of the water (certainly at least for someone over 40). So - any thoughts, comments - any kind words about 60k miles being no issue at all etc etc. My research shows that the car is reasonably priced - I'd appreciate some confirmation! Cheers.
