Question for the mappers, mapped for decats running cats
Mark@Abbey m/s replied to Arran's topic in 350Z General
We run more Ignition timing with decats , fitting CATS slows the flow up so therefore you could cause damage. Especially while running flat out , knock control is turned off over 4800 rpm. no you should be okay as the car in stock calibration is tuned very safely. -
If your going to clean the TB's, disconnect the wiring to the TB's and disconnect the battery as well, opening the TB connected cusses issues with the ECU idle circuit.

Sounds like the normal exhaust cam control issues on a HR Nissan 350Z , easy fix with a Uprev tune.

High Erratic Idle, 2007 Coupe. 70k mileage
Mark@Abbey m/s replied to Martinjj's topic in 350Z Technical
We have to send the ECU to be reprogrammed; There are 2 Eprom chips in the ECU 1 controls idle and NATS the other everything else. If you move the butterflies on the Throttle bodies WITHOUT disconnecting the ECU and Throttle body plugs it corrupts the IDLE/NATS EPROM. This is what causes the bad idle, we can have this Eprom reprogrammed but you lose the NATS in the your ECU. so please disconnect the battery and TB wiring plugs when you clean your throttle bodies please. -

Uprev N/A reflashes and live mapping
Mark@Abbey m/s replied to Mark@Abbey m/s's topic in Abbey Motorsport
Once a car has a license uploaded if you want the car tuned you only need to pay for dyno time. Each car needs a license loaded if you remove the license you remove the tune. Cost for NA cars is £402-00 inc vat. Thanks -

That car has an ECU issue I can say the throttle bodies where cleaned (butterflies) pushed open and this corrupts the ECU we have seen a few times. The idle speed control isn't controlled by the re programmable EPROM the one we remap. We can get this fixed thou we do need to send the ECU away thou. Thanks -

What's the horror stories you heard about Abbey Please? Would like to hear you issues please. Thanks -
We have had issues with getting Berks passed the MOT even if they are warmed up aggressivly. We went over to a Cobra HFC ( they aren't custom made for us) which uses a better quality Catalytic brick (euro 5 spec) works far better than the Berks we have used before. We can supply the Cobra HFCS for both types of cars DE/REV UP and the HR/VHR for £540-00 inc vat.

Need some more people interested before I push forward renting a dyno and sorting fights. -
Guys you can buy the Osiris Software to allow you to tune the car yourself no problem The kit including a license or not can be brought to allow you all the features that us Pro Tuners get minus a small few but these don't stop your getting the same tunable parameters we get. If you buy the kit from us @ Abbey Motorsport I will help you with any help.with any tuning questions. thanks

Interesting thread TBH. Generic mapping on a 350Z/370Z doesn't work , every map needs to tweaked, De-grading sensors/AFM's and injectors all need to be taken into consideration; Someone hacked the software maybe they have but do they get all the updates from the Programming developing company , hacked software normally means glitches bugs that all can cause people hassle. Tuning NA isn't easy and I know we don't get good gains in relation to a turbo car but you do get a return from you spend amount especially if you add mods to your car. The car does tune itself back tot the calibration AFR and the ignition calibration. I think us Uprev tuners do a very good job Abbey Motorsport TDI North Trackday Performance Horsham Development and RS Tuning. Yes we have the ability to remove the license as well which helps if you move onto another car or remove your mods prior to selling your car on.

You can buy a cable with a license attached that will allow you preferred tuner to tune your own car these cost £607-00 inc vat. The reason there is a license fee for Uprev and people like ECUTEK they are constantly developing the software which means costs. The license fee is what pays for this work. Abbey have to buy the licenses from UPREV/ECUTEK to enable us to tune your car. The Audi...etc etc will just be a generic map loaded into your car the dealer that loads the calibration pays for the base calibration that he loads into your car just like when we tune diesels. We charge £402-00 inc vat which includes the license fee and dyno work we do not upload a generic calibration every car is tune live.

Been crunching some figures , If I can get 8 people all N/A I can do the UPREV remap for £502-00 inc vat. (ONLY NA cars) So only any extra £100-00 over the normal costs of the Uprev that is tuned @ Abbey or TDI North. I will need 8 deposits before I book the dyno and my flights. 4 cars a day. I can tune other cars on a 3rd day but the costs will be per hour. £100-00 inc vat including dyno time. -

Just checked - petrol down and back to TDI would be well over a 100 quid from where I am (central Scotland)....so 550 to get it done up North is not too far off the ball Mark. Now, just have to resist......I said I'd spend no more BUT...... How many cars do you need to make it feesible? Also I take it the more cars done will reflect in costing? I am think 2 or 3 days max , still working on dyno prices so I cant give numbers yet. but I am am thinking 3 to 4 cars a day.
