  1. The fairlady badge is on the imports, doesn't mean it won't be the GT spec though. You would need to check the spec. They can be tail happy, but drive it with a little respect (especially in the rain) and its a fairly planted car.
  2. Yes it has a ypipe as standard, the aftermarket ones just have better flow and give a slight gain. That said no matter what mods you do the ECU dials them out more or less unless you get a tune and there are only two places that do this on the standard ECU which are Abbey and RS.
  3. thats what neil said above ^ so im a little confused now.... Whats confusing you??
  4. The cats are between the manifolds and the ypipe (I think!!) so need two. You should still see gains from tuning with just a ypipe and back section leaving standard cats but sports/de-cats will see most improvement.
  5. What he said!! The scorpion also has lifetime warranty I believe.
  6. The majority of the traders prices are cheap for us and group buys come up to make them even cheaper sometimes. Sometimes like with insurance you need to qoute a code that they provide in their sigs. Thats a good exhuast and lots have it. Would also recommend a Ypipe to go with it. Manifolds are considered a waste as the improvements are minimal, especially v the costs. Most people do ypipe, de-cat/sport cats and back.
  7. With regards to power a few mods: Plenum Spacer Panel filter Exhaust Sports/de-cats Ypipe And then a remap with either Abbey or RSTuning will have the older 276 cars up near the 290/300bhp mark. Some people have graphs up around here.
  8. I think its pre 05 is 276, 06 -07 is 296 and 07+ is 303. GT spec means you get the Bose system, heated seats etc. Most common spec I would say. When you find a car you like the look of just post up a link and people will give their opinion. Also close by members are usually happy to go and look at the car for you if its far from your location. Some people travel long distances to pick up the right Zed and it makes the drive home a lot better!
  9. I think its post 06 for the more expensive tax, thought it was March 06 but could be wrong. You clearly don't have many speed bumps near you to want a car that low! Don't recognise the splitter but sure someone will know what it is. Offsets would have to be very low to get that stance and probably need the arches rolling. Plenty of people here running 10" wide wheels. Offsets have been covered loads so should be able to find some pictures with offsets via the search as its not my strong point. I would say they would be creeping down to the low teens/single figures in those pics though.
  10. JDM and UK power is the same. It will depend on the year of the car as there are 3 different engines (276, 296, 303(ish??)). I have an import and the insurance isn't that much more than a uk car. Just make sure you use a decent insurer (like the ones on here) and you should be fine.
  11. Imports are quieter than uk cars but they sound pretty good. You can't beat an after market exhaust though to just give it that little bit more. +1 on the roadster but we would say that!!
  12. plenty of info on here and there is a daily drive thread recently posted so that may gave you an insight to how the car is being a daily drive.
  13. Abbey can re-map using your existing ECU and probably will recommend doing this. Haven't heard of mods not being compatible with the HKS but I may be wrong. Sure Mark will give you all the answers you need but in general running around the 400bhp mark is considered safe on the stock internals.
  14. WHAT?!?!?! What's that about bud? Just a company thing? Thats the government standard. Dont know what its officially called, but after 10k miles a year, they recommend that you only get paid 25p/mile I'll give it a google EDIT: http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/rates/travel.htm Yep think its HMRC guidelines as thats the same for the last 2 companies I have worked for.
  15. I still don't think its any different to normal workers just for lots more money. When I was in a position to do it I said to my company I was leaving unless I got a payrise.
  16. I don't think Giggs and Gerrard would agree. Oh really...........in between battering DJ's Saint Stevie has shown his complete loyalty time and time again http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/footbal ... 653041.stm And how old is that statement???
  17. Not just footballers Most people chase the money. If you were offered double your wages at another company for doing the same job would you show loyalty or chase the money? I did it 3 years ago, 102% payrise to move company and do a very similar job I was already doing. How can I turn that down?!?
  18. I don't think Giggs and Gerrard would agree.
  19. Yep the Nurrish system will rinse the Nissan one and will a lot less money.
  20. Good shout, I have to remove strut as I can't get the MAF off otherwise. Its right under the strut on the K&N Typhoon.
  21. Its actually not that difficult to be honest. I am no mechanic and I have changed my plenum and throttle body a few times now. You will need to: Remove strut bar Take air filter box off and intake pipe Unplug and remove throttle body (its 4 screws that I think are alan key type screws). Can be a git to undo these depending on how tight they are. Just be careful not to move the butterfly too much, you will probably need to do another reset as well once all fitted back together. Probably an hours work taking your time. If this helps this is a picture of the throttle body attached to the plenum:
  22. Possible the butterfly in the throttle body. Could try a throttle body reset, there is a guide on here. Need a stop watch to make it easier. Sounds like it could possibly be air flow related so try that first to see if resetting the position will solve the problem. Sure some more techy people will be along soon though.
  23. Its probably a late registered car so has the 296 DE engine and not the HR hence no bulge. If your sis is looking for around 2007 then it would probably be better to get the HR engine.
