  1. Did not have to remove the steering rack when I did mine. Just loosened all the retaining bolts and bashed out the old rubber bushes and slipped the new ones in by hand with some lube. If you are going this far then it's worth doing the engine and gearbox mounts too! The rear is a b@&tch If you are doing the subframe and my advice will be to strip all the bits of the subframe (diff, rear hubs, arms and brakes) to make it easy to lower and handle. You could make your life easier by using whiteline slip on subframe bushes but I think a full urethane bush is better. I used Energy suspension before going with SPL solid bushes. Superpro did not make these subframe and diff bushes when I did this a few years ago. You will be so happy when this is done.
  2. Pm sent about seat rails. I've attended the last 3 meets at SW and intend to attend the next championship event.

Would have gone 275/40/18 rear for closest match to OEM RR. Though 265 is ok. Either 245 or 255/40/18 works though 255/40 is closest. I like to stay within 1% of the RR if possible and wider tyres = grip. Did you use a tyre calculator Bobby?
  4. I always find this threads very amusing and missing the point why we do what we do in the first place. You can look at it from so many different perspective eg value, enjoyment, performance, status etc but ultimately it comes down to the heart and budget as none of the mentioned arguments apply or are entirely correct. Eg that a newer car is better or handles better etc. Or for example sinking £7k into a zed means you will loose all its the value. There is no difference fundamentally modifying a zed with £7k just like doing the same with a BMW 135i. They both will depreciate, they both will be inherently less "reliable" than OEM and invariable the desire is to make them do something that the OEM car lacks eg grunt or handling etc. ultimately is how far you want to take it and enjoy it because whatever platform you choose will invariably lead you to the same path so far as you are a petrolhead. But for what it's worth especially having the best of both worlds(my zed and M3 V8) and haven had a fair few drivers cars in the past and tuned them, it is makes better sense to start with a great chassis that is cheap and modify it to your requirements. Eg a £6k zed + 7K supercharged will be better value and more fun than a 13-14k std car. Eg 370z E46 M3, 335I etc
  5. Following the high interest that I had for these wheels before they sold I made loads of inquiries and searches to find another set. I have found a sets of ex demo in 18". The set is staggered 18x8.5 and 18x9.5. ET is 30/35. These will take a 245/40/18 and 275/40/18 tyres or stay with OEM sizes for a slight stretched looked. Std 20/25mm spacers would work or 15/20mm depending of how aggressive you want to go. Have a set of deep dish unique, strong and light weight wheels. The wheels will come fully repowdercoated any your choice could be accommodated if available from factory. Asking for £650 collected will also consider
  6. It comes fully balanced and assembled by cosworth technicians so basically plug and play (I use the term loosely) so no need for too much down time or machining. I know but the question is why pay so much for a short block when you can buy the parts and have a good shop assemble and balance and blueprint the whole thing for you? The extra money save can be put to good use elsewhere IMHO. But its you dosh so do what you must just my 2p
  7. Why cosworth short block? I'm sure you can get Lo comp forged pistons and rods set, camps etc and get a competent builder in UK or US to build you your own short or long block for cheaper for about the same money, As attractive as stroking is effectively increasing your displacement it's completely unnecessary when FI and especially when you add the complexity of sleeving if you with any thing bigger than 3.9l, you end up with more problems than it's wortth. Go to my350z.com and do your due diligence.
  8. @Matt: You've answered you question. Stock car stock geo. Use the extreme of the stock settings and dial from toe out and you will be closer to what you are after. Rear toe at 0 as Dan suggests will also help rotate the car easily and encourage oversteer eg lift off oversteer or in the wet which I don't mind as it focuses your mind but it also accentuates rear bump steer which is pronounced with the big tyres I run at the back. The key is to have a play until you fine the happy medium.
  9. JLR ??? I live and work in Worcester. I hardly drive the car and if I do its for a hoon out in the stick or to go and have some mods done in the garage or my local race shop. wheres the local race shop in worcester? i live there too lol! They specialise in BMW but can do most things and most cars. It's in blackpole and called Torquespeed. I also have a very reliable mechanic at London road who has done most stuff on the zed with me and can maintain your car cheap and proper. Do you live around Gregory mill street. I see a grey zed there sometime Pm your whereabouts and we could meet up for a chin wag.
  10. Will see what I can do. What exactly do you want to see? Send me email or phone details for pics via pm. I'm fed up of photoshop.
  11. You are welcome. Has been stored since I bought it and never used it myself.

  13. +1 with Mark on this. Run exactly the same toe out in front and 0.08 toe in at rear. I'll not dial toe out at the rear unless it's your plan to dial in oversteer. Camber is always a trade off of your tyre life and type and how much corner grip you want to generate and also your driving style. TBH there is no fixed magic geo but a constant tweaking to find what you are happy with and how much adjustability your car has. It's pointless to say dial -3.5 of front camber when you have OEM arms. I suspect that was what Dan was alluding to. Personally I would say start with the upper range of the OEM geo add good tyres and the go from there if you have just the OEM set up. Doing up bushes will go a long way it keeping the car dialled in too. We can recommend eg adjustable ARB, coilovers etc when you have specifics of what you want to create or nullify and a list of what you've done so far and current geo.
  14. The ET 30/35 wheels with your spacers will leave you with the same stance you've got now bar 2mm on the back which you will not notice. The ET 15 will need a 5 or 10mm will fit like the ET35 with 25mm spacers (5mm more poke if you use 10mm spacer). 5mm is small so it will be fine just like guys with rays running 30mm spacers at the rear. Running a smaller spacer is always better if possible. So to clarify go with the ET30 and ET 15 wheels. Use the 20mm up front and use a 10mm at the rear. BTW I can also swap direct with you 10mm eibach for 25mm spacer
  15. Do you actually have the custom cage in? If yes can you share pics. I'm getting messed about with this roll cage malarkey and will end up getting a prefab weld in cage in the end!
  16. I'm sure it's not a big deal. We run fuel into the engine and huge petrol tanks and it doesn't go boom loads of race cars on it too. Just not sure about the use in an intercooler.
  17. Hey Nic, I looked into this way back but didn't want to risk due to the combustible nature of Evans fluid and more so my cooling system is very good on track with the larger radiator, upgrade fans, higher performance motul coolant and coupled with oil cooler and larger oil capacity I've had no issues. I think the selling point of Evans is the resistance to boiling and air locks. Water is a better coolant by far and you can abolish air locks with a breather system. So don't know how Evans will work for an air to water intercooler. Do some searches. I think you are best to go with a bigger intercooler like frozen boost you were looking into and higher performance coolant like motul inugel. Otherwise it looks like it's a simple case of draining the system, filling it with the flush and the fill up with Evans. I guess you can flush twice to be sure😄
  18. Do it Mike, i can see lots of custom projects in our future😄😄😄😄!
  19. Happy birthday racing snake! May you live long to see the day spurs are champions of the PL Ain't gonna happen so you should make plans to live a very longtime have a great day budðŸ‘
