  1. Nice work Ben! I think I should take it back when I thought you where too lazy to fit the coilovers. Your car is coming on greatðŸ‘! Look into an LSD with a 3.9 or 4.08 final drive since you are staying NA. The LSD is a must. I'll try and get in a trackday or do the Ring with you next summer😎
  2. Got one and many other stuff from when I stripped my zed for trackdays. There's an old FS somewhere. Pm an offer cheers.
  3. James what's is going on🙀! Are you breaking the car or just stripping weight for full track use😜! GLWTS anyway!
  4. Hey Tim, if you are passing through before it starts to snow just give me a call and you can have a drive yourself though it maybe misleading since I'm on full solid bushes, solid mounts and wide R888s. My car is going in for a full cage during winter so give me a head up. I would recommend the urethane gb mount and LSD 100%. 2way is way better than I thought but I use my car predominantly for track or driving to track. If you have doubts get the 1.5-2way Cusco or Kaaz so you can adjust it to suit. Get urethane engine mounts and diff to tie the whole driveline together.
  5. I've got 2 buddy club 350z side mounted seat rails up for sale soon when my car goes in for a roll cage. In very good condition. Pm if interested. I've got pics on of my fs post.
  6. Nice work Tim. Been there and done with a full strip earlier this year. It makes a big difference as even the plastics weight cumulatively but the car is so raw that so you need to be committed. I've got my zed done to 1380kg now with quarter tank fuel and all the other fluids. I believe the UK spec GT weighs 1600kg with fluids. It's a shame I didn't weight individual parts for reference but this has been done before on my 350z US. The only areas left for me is the window motors, AC compressor and lines and lean replacement for all the glass except windscreen. There probably just under 100kg there but I'll loose about 25kg to my full roll cage and when I get the sc back on. Fwiw I would have done an initial corner weight and put the battery in the best spot to roughly even the weights to make full corner weghting easier.
  7. Hey Neil! You finally decided to reveal your buildðŸ‘! First off I would like to say if anyone deserves this it would be you because of the difficult times you are going through mate and I'm so looking forwards to handing the car back to you as its been a long journey. Neil bought the remnants of my previous V2 T trim supercharger kit with the options to blend old and spec new parts to result in a custom and complete custom set up that was capable of 600whp on a built engine or bombproof on stock internal. Being the magpie that he is he also wanted everything polished where possible. As a result ordering the amazing all new V2 Ti trim supercharger fully polished took longer than the ubiquitous off the shelf V2 or V3 sci trim units. Neil was very patient despite parting with his hard earned ££s to a complete stranger and later having the news that his dad was facing a serious illness he remained calm. To cut a long story short everything arrived in the end and we jumped into the build and I feel so genuinely happy for Neil because it could have happened to a nicer guy. We decided to go with the V2 Ti trim because of several massive advantages I have pointed in the past. It is an improvement of the mad T trim setup I had. At some point I was running 464whp at 15psi and with timing retarded to keep it from making more power/boost!! I beat on it on track and it never flinched. - first it is a race spec unit with billet and high effliency impeller and heavy duty bulletproof race bearings rated to 65k rpm but known to cope with 80k rpm in racing/drag racing circles. So it will offer great longevity. To be fair the vortech units are well built but if you decide to race/track or push you kit hard then this would give you peace of mind. -Secondly it makes power. Over 1000whp depending on application. It's the biggest "smallest" unit vortech makes. It's very efficient, and as expected engine oil fed. While the self lubricated units maybe "convenient" if you can call replacing the traction oil every so often and which is not easy they are not robust enough for heavy duty application like racing hence the are sold as street systems by vortech and have no race warranty. I think engine oil fed units have better cooling and and in the case of the T trim or Ti also have the heavy duty race internals. Everything else on the built has been soecced to be future proof or efficient or robust and while I'm not a fan of bling I have to admit that it looks amazing and when all is done this zed will really stand out! I just have to make a driver out of you Neil!!!! On another level this is my 10th supercharger build project! My 3 project this year alone!!! I have now completed 6 installs by myself and 4 with the lads(Darren b, Adrian) back in the day! It has been an amazing journey were I've met made great friendships and shared wonderful moments with some really nice people. It has been very satisfying and even better all the cars I've worked on are still going strong and being used as they shoul. (If only Darryl-jumping350z will get his tuned!) Some have shared their builds here and some have preferred to keep in the shadows or frequent the show circuit and just like Neil was about to do but I'm happy he decided to share. After this long journey l I've got one final supercharger build which will be the culmination of all I've learnt and it been long overdue; My custom 700whp custom V7 Ysi kit for my track spec zed I will finally jump into this through out the winter into next spring. It's been long overdue. If anyone is contemplating a build I have a few bits and bobs left like fuel buckets etc that will go up for sale. Neil, with your permission I'll put up some final pictures and and answer any technical info about your build. Once I figure how to get that oil cooler to fit the car is ready to go and I'll leave you to start it for the first time yourself as its been tradition. I can't wait to see you take you dad for a spin and see him smile. I hope he beats this cancer!
  8. Ok. I'm free tomoz so will get some detailed pics.
  9. Nice work DarrylðŸ‘. I'll be doing something similar with Neil's car as I've just finished installing the vortech kit but no room for the oil cooler in the std position. Send me links to were you got the hardware. I've seen some on eBay but undecided. It will save me fabbing them as I'd planned. Now get that car tuned😜😜!
  10. Good all rounder! Easy to drive fast in dry. You need to be on your game when wet but the LSD is much better than I initially thought. Superb engine. DCT box is epic. Shouldn't have gone manual in retrospect. Slight more thirsty and small tank. Brake are adequate for fast road use but suffer on maximum attack repeated use so I suspect it will need managing on track. I've just uprated my pads and fluids which should solve this. It really begs for subtle mods eg splitter, exhaust and lowering/spacers but I'll not go further than the brakes. In all I would recommend unless you want to jump straight to a GTR😉 Which is the next logical step.
  11. @Will, no worries mate! Would have been nice to meet up but I got busy too!! @Ryan Shame as it would have been cool to have you riding short gun. I'm just so pumped now as I can really use this break after slaving at work for last 4months😇
  12. Anyone at the Ring this weekend?😎 It's the penultimate trackday of the year and the weather conditions ate favourable. Was going to go with the lads at my local race shop but they are having issues with their FIA spec M3 E46 GTR which I was so looking towards to drive but on a good note I'm taking my M3 V8 to pop her Nurburgring cherry I now going on my own so would be nice to meet up with anyone from here. I've got a spare seat if anyone fancies the trip but didn't want to take their car. There will be plenty of passenger laps and off course🙀 the possibility to squeeze some instructed lapsðŸ‘.
  13. You will also need to shave flat the plastic tabs underneath the front radiator cover as it interferes with the CAI as it bends towards the driver side. I can send you pics of its not clear.
  14. Nice work DarrylðŸ‘. Make sure you cover up the sc intake as there is loads of plastic and iron fillings generated when dremelling.
  15. You can still get reclining bucket seats with side mounts which means you keep your mounts. However reclining seats tend to be heavier and also bottom mounted seats which also in addition don't get you as low as would be desirable. I think what you need is a GT(wider) side mounted bucket seat to accommodate you generous behind.😇.
  16. Some more stuff I have no further use of. Also still have some items on my old thread here: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/99281-fs-stripping-the-zed-and-general-clearance/ 1- Used genuine limited edition HKS oil filler cap. £sold delivered. 17. Looking good dougieðŸ‘. Spin by when it's done mate.
  18. Goodluck bud👠It would come good in the end!
  19. Sensor out and use electrical component spray. Give it 2-3 blasts straight unto the resistor wire let it dry for about. 5mins the repeat. Let it dry for 20mins and refit. Good idea to clean the TB butterfly too and probably the plenum of PCV blow by oil. I use a small paint brush and white spirit to do this. Do a full relearning procedures and job done. The car always drives crisply and responsively after this. I do it one a year.
