  1. Got a brand new, never used, sim unlocked and unbranded Nokia 5800. Their first iPhone competitor from Nokia I guess. You can use any sim in it and I can't tell you much about it I am afraid as I have kept it in the box and only placed in the battery to check it powers on before I sell it. Everything packed as new and totally unused. Some of the key features as far as I can see (coming from an iPhone user) are: Higher resolution screen than the iPhone 3.2 mega pixel Camera (with video recording) & twin flash + auto focus Can stream audio to a car stereo via bluetooth Has a pretty powerful and long lasting 1320mah battery Has 8GB memory (expandable) Is a 3G phone (but as with most phones can switch to 2G if you prefer) Built in Nokia music store + podcast compatible Built in web browser The list is endless really... those are just a few things. If you want to know more, probably best to visit this site where which has lots of pic's and a few video's etc of the phone: http://www.expansys.com/p.aspx?i=174484&partner=froogle Im looking to fetch £230 ideally (including delivery)... Any questions I will do my best to answer. All the best, Nathan
  2. I knew you would be buddy... you've been a great help and tremendously patient with me (with all my questions) :-) lol Just thought I would put the feelers out just incase. You never know and I have trued most other avenues this past couple of months. Never thought this would cause me so much agro :-( lol Ah well...
  3. Ok, so got a 350z last quarter of 2008 and absolutely love it. Love it to bits infact... Easily the best car I have had and I have owned RX8's, Golf GTI MK2 & 5 etc. Two things niggle me however and both involve what I missed when buying the car (silly me). One thing is the wheel stagger is all wrong (so need to get new alloys / tyres). But thats for another day unless anyone is looking so shift some decent second hand rims? Would love to buy new but funds are extremely tight currently as I am trying to set my own business up currently. Anyhow, the second thing is that as you will see by the attached picture, both lens's on my headlights are cracked to buggery. How I missed that I do not know and its something I beat myself up about every time I drive the car (as well as the traction control kicking in cos the wheels are the wrong size as well) :-) lol (have to laugh or I will cry). So I am on the look out for a set of light assembly's (xenon or normal). I have Xenon's but basically only need them to take the plastic covers off. If anyone has just the Lens's though and they are in good condition... even better. I will be eternally grateful to anybody that can help as im getting a bit weary looking at all these sites etc and never know the best places to look apart from the obvious. Look forward to any response though... All the best, Nathan
  4. If your looking to sell your old wheels, let me know lol New alloys look great though...
  5. Only just noticed this thread. Been so busy with work (and poor weather) this past week or two. It was my pleasure helping Paul. Sorry it isn't quite the bespoke "custom" website I would have liked to have designed. But it was the cheapest way to go as you already had the hosting in place. If things take off for you then we can always re-visit that and as per usual there will be no charge and I will try my best to come up with something a bit special ;-) Anyway, its the least I can do to help repay everybody's patience here with me on the forum (especially when I ask such novice questions). As much as I have always loved cars, fixing them and modifying them has never been my forte. Im a bit crap at stuff like that
  6. I just cannot make my mind up on the 370. One minute I love it, the next minute I think "perhaps I prefer and should keep the 350"... Better make my mind up soon if im to get one by July...
  7. Your a star mate... Thanks for that buddy... It was new front Disks and Pad's, but its been 3 or so months now and still squeeling badly (the car that is)
  8. Thanks guys... appreciate the advice. I will head off and try and get some today. Will fade in to the background again now and let the original poster get back on with his topic
  9. Never had the pleasure to meet your Dad or your good self Andrew but given the recent news, feel like shedding a tear or two for you buddy... Words I guess don't really sum up just how sad and upset I feel for you all. I just hope and pray things get better for you. Such a terrible shame you find yourself in this position... Keep fighting buddy as its the only way and best wishes to your Dad.
  10. Sorry to but in... just a quickie but my car (since purchase a couple of months back) has always had squeeling brakes. Guy had only recently put new pads on when I got it... Can I retrospectively add this copper grease and solve the problem, or will the brakes have been worn in incorrectly now and new pads required? Sorry to the original poster for thread hijacking... just thought whilst on the subject
  11. I guess if you are looking for something entry level and easy to use, an SLR probably won't be for you. My advice for a good point and shoot (at a cheap price) would be the Fuji F50fd. Can be had for around the £100 mark and is great at daytime shots but also has one of the best sensors for using it in more dimly lit situations, (which lets face it is more often than not at parties, events, indoors etc). You can probably get better but I just forked out £250 for a Panasonic FX500 and its not even as good as my old Fuji F31fd (which was only 6 mega pixels). I had a Casio Exlim as recommended above as well. Another great cam but for me (at the price) the Fuji is the better all rounder. The Casio takes a slightly more saturated picture, where as the Fuji is more natural. Both can be tweeked in programs like Picasa and iPhoto etc, dependent on if you use Mac or PC. If your budget is much higher then your options do improve but I wouldn't say you will see any massive gains in picture quality as for me, compact point and shoot cameras have started to stagnate of late and they have pushed the current technology / sensors to the limits at the minute. Just remember, its not all about mega pixels, but rather quality of the sensor used and post processing / compression techniques within the camera.
  12. We did the same a couple of years back (apart from the getting Married bit) Vegas is absolutely amazing. Spent 8 days there and still didn't manage to fit everything I wanted to do in. Things we did that were superb are Grand Canyon (a must), watch the show called "O" at the Belaggio. Go shopping in the main Fashion Mall (its huge). Go to old Vegas (by the Stratosphere)... its really awesome and a lot different to the main strip. Spend a bit of time in Cesar's Palace as its a really awesome Hotel / Casino. To be honest, as long as you just get out and about, you will have a great time regardless. Its by far and away the best holiday I have ever had. It really isn't all about gambling there... so many other things to see and do... Hope you have a great time though and I am rather envious
  13. Rather embarrasingly my car still has cracked headlights and the only mod's are an induction kit, new headunit and different alloys that came with the car... However, count me in as I need some advice on what to do with it and be good to meet a few of you local guys
  14. Must admit that I am having the occasional clunk and rattle in what sounds like the rear passenger side of the car. Also the suspension sounds like it squeeks every now and then when I reverse really slow (like 1mph or something) or move forward from say a reverse very slowly. Will watch the thread with interest as mine is driving me mad too...
  15. I've had and still own the 2G and 3G iPhones. I used to change phones literally every 2 months a little while back (seriously) and the reason I say "used to" is because since I have owned an iPhone, every other phone just pales in comparison. Its actually more of a mini computer to be fair given what it can do. Yes there are some very perculiar ommisions like MMS for instance, but if you can do without that and say video calls (two things people rarely use anyway) you definitely won't be dissapointed with an iPhone. I have had a hands on with the Experia and it wasn't anything special in my opinion. Get down to the O2 store and get a demo of an iPhone. They have a ton on display. That and the Carphone Warehouse. If you have any questions about them, please feel free to ask
  16. I have to be honest... probably too pricey for me but no doubt what they are worth... I have a JDM car and have been thinking of either some new pads (as my current ones are soooooo squeeky) or perhaps upgrading. I've got one eye on the 370z so not much point in going too overboard on the upgrades for now, but just sniffing round for any bargains if they present themselves Best of luck with the sale though
  17. Must admit that I am pretty interested but have literally no idea what they would be worth and what to offer???
  18. There is no doubt that some of their hardware (like the Air and Apple TV) for instance, hasn't quite hit the mark. However if OSX ran on a big lumpy box in the corner and was half the price, I'd love to buy it as I have no interest in the hardware per say. Just find the software a joy to use.
  19. I was an avid Windows user for many years but grew frustrated during the dawn of broadband and the amount of crap that was infecting my PC and meaning I had to constantly re-install it etc. Sure things are better now as back then people didn't really have a 100% secure grasp on how to block these threats on windows then but now I suppose they do. However, with all that said and done. At the time I switched to Mac and have never looked back. Been an OSX user now for about 4/5 years and I cannot express just how much more stable a platform it is, just how easy they are to use and how much more productive you find yourself being due to the (in my opinion) better software it has developed for it and they way in which your peripherals (such as didi camera, mobile phone, etc etc) just integrate with generally no drivers at all. I have been responsible for converting about 8-9 people to the Mac platform (mainly friends and family) and providing you don't want to use it for gaming and have a PS3 / Xbox instead or something, then I would most likely guarantee 100% that you will prefer using a Mac. To be fair, as others have suggested, you can still game on a Mac by installing windows on your machine (which is very easy to do). The graphics cards will still enable you to play anything the PC does. However if its top top end graphics and as many Frames Per Second as you can get whilst gaming that interests you, then perhaps stick with a PC. But that would be the only reason in my opinion. Just found this which is Apple's sales(ey) site which is supposed to temp you to buy one http://www.apple.com/getamac/ I'd just have a look at the hundreds of videos of the operating system and software etc they do on there do get a real feel for what its all about. Then maybe go have a muck around with one in your local store... Im convinced you'll love it though, so only do that if you can afford one as you will start feeling your wallet twitch very quickly
  20. I spent about £300 on that SwissVax stuff when I had my Diamond Black Golf GTI MK5. I have to say its the donkey's danglers... Spent 7 hours doing the car one crazy day. Never again though lol Still have it all as well... just can't be buggered to use it
  21. On the one hand I am glad to hear he is on the mend... however I am also saddened to hear of the mental plight he is experiencing (and you are all suffering). Very very sad to hear and the one thing I will say is that doctors can and have been proved wrong Andrew, so where there is a will there is a way and who knows what and how he might improve in the future. I (as well as everybody I am sure) will be praying and keeping our fingers crossed for your Dad, you and the family...

    370z

After loosing a shed load of dosh on my partners Peugeot 207 GT from new and my Golf GTI MK5 from new, I think I will almost always buy nearly new from now on and let somebody else take the hit... Like others here, might give it 12 months, that is until I see one in the flesh lol...

    370z

Thats a good point actually... generally cars do look better in the flesh. The new VW Scirocco being a prime example...

    370z

I have a complete opposite opinion to Stew in that I think the 350z needs tampering with to look great (i.e bigger wheels, lowered, spoiler because of the rear overhang etc), but the 370z has addressed all of that I think (all barring the backwards step with the headlights). They are both my absolute fav "affordable" cars at the minute anyway
  25. nate247

    spoilers?

That would be a "not yet" In all honesty, can't see myself doing that in the short term. Just wondered if there was an effect giving it a boot during everyday driving?
