  1. great thread! I know who can make my engine build for nothing now What's the plan for the whole project? Where will it stop? Well done mate!
  2. my tuner is a bit sceptic about the ssv kinetix plenum... (typical since I got it) Said that FI it might be good. If it doesn't crack (they've changed the welding according to themselves) looks good anyway .... (my cage got enough air and petrol true my last tune so the only thing left is either E85, rebuild with bigger bore and turbo setup) (did I just say that about 'looks good'?) A.
  3. deadly,
  4. Dont think any of these makes much of a difference. Tried on a dyno today one run without filter gave no difference in hp or torq so there you go, keep the org box I'd say to keep it cool. (so any type of drop in filter)
  5. didnt get close to 330 but very good figures still Will be a while before I do the next tune but it will be E85 uprated fuel pump and fuel lines & injectors It was amazing to see this guy do his work! Was sitting in the passenger seat from 11:30 - 16:30 (break for lunch and tee) watching him start of with a base tune = fuel map and ignition map... then over to adjust the cam timing, this was amazing to see the actual tq just change in front of my eyes when you change a nr in a table from 15 to say 20... Also realized It'll be a while before I get into tuning my own cage! He's a wizz doing mapping convinced about that, like no Q about it. Have just been driving it for a short while but it's a complete different kind of animal. Even sorted out the fueling around normal motorway speed for better fuel consumption! (lets see if it will actually work!) Was a bit sceptic at the SSV plenum manifold (oops might have been a bad buy) + to haltech for the 'ease' of tuning the car... can't wait for my drive in the morning. The HP figures might be lower then the one on the E5 and less stuff made to it but I'd say this Dyno is showing a bit lower figures then the other. Might just arrange a dyno day down there with the lads up north Anyway I'm happy, please comment.
  6. Model: 2003 VQ35DE (JDM) Mods: Apexi filter, ZEES Exhaust, Haltech Platinum ECU, Custom 'true' dual exhaust, BERK cats, Kinetix SSV Velocity manifold. Dyno: DynaPack / TDP.ie BHP: WHP: 265.4 / FHP: 318 (+-5% on WHP) Torque: 318.5 lb/ft (Texaco Techron Petrol) Quick note: Runs so much better now even though performance figures show a different story, less knocking and more pull on low revs love it! (the fuel map is to die for )
  7. Any news on the speed delimiter?

    Tyre profiles 19"

Don't 4 get the tyre pressure makes a big difference, on the bike I drop the pressure 6 psi rear and front 5 when driving track or a bit heavy on the road. Works wonders My goodyear f1's seems good enough for wet and when it's dry it would be my own fault if I put her in the ditch.... A.
  9. not bad!!!
  10. rofl! Congrats, thats a lot of car for your age no offense. (take it handy) btw, how much is your insurance?
  11. those things are crap... glad to hear you've seen the light on the other side and got some needed help from here! (sorry it wasn't me) So get tuning on the Z now and have that party that I've heard all about.
  12. Not for 500 miles on a motorway. Even Lomoto thought hi flo's and Nismo were too much. all relative though, as sound is a very, very subjective thing its all about how much hearing you got yourself

    what a result!

Out of interest what size are you running on 17" rims? 225/50 17 front 235/50 17 rears sorry to hear about the blowout, had one on mine two weeks after i got new goodyear f1's put on! costed me 190€ fitted. will see if i i can find that uk site that seems to have pretty good pricing on their rubber dubber.
  14. Well done what ever happened! Any pics on that intake you've modded on the front? Looks pretty cool.
  15. both sides, pain. What miles have yours done? Keep me posted what the outcome might be.
  16. sounds like a good price
  17. Welcome...22! hope you get a good quote mate! Enjoy the Zzzzz
  18. I'd stay away from true dual exhauts, race cats, plenum upgrades if you want to keep the noise down. I'd change the endcans to 'any' of the ones out there. K1 system maybe? (with baffles in and take them out when ever you feel like it wanting to go a bit louder). If you like to hear the sound of the intake I'd go for a apexi drop in filter (so you dont messup the intake setup and heat being sucked into the engine) Listen to these 3 clips think these links are better for sound difference: "standard": before: after:
  19. hmm the silencer has two 'canals' but sharing the same baffle material if that clarifies it. Sorry for thread stealing....
  20. Output to whatever. And use super to convert
  21. +1 happened to me on my flex joint, it's only 50-60£ to replace so do that 1st before fitting.
  22. Thats a true dual, the gas mix in the centre so there is on need for a pipe between the two pipes for equalize of pressure Below is an example of the borla true dual exaust note the pipe between the two pipes (red circle) My understanding is that true dual means that there is no single piping along the way from the cats...

  24. thought you needed flexi's... Why don't you price up a full custom exhaust from a reputable garage? (thats done it before) cheaper and 'better' I'd say since it's not massproduced to make a quick buck... Here is a photo of mine that I got done Monday: Not sure about quality yet but will keep the exhaust thread 'busy' with anything that might crop up!
  25. welcome to the forum... any pics?
