A major probelm affecting the market is valuers covering their backs when it comes to valuations for mortgages. This is affecting bespoke properties more than anything else, but its rife within the market. Example. A couple are wanting to buy a house for £200k. The mortgage deal they can find has a max Loan To Value of 85%. So they need to raise the other 15% in a deposit. So, they scrape together £30k of savings, and enough to cover the stamp duty and other fees (not easy) and go to the bank/mortgage advisor with their earnings and demonstrate they can easily afford the mortgage of £170k. Great - all set to go. They make their offer and it is accepted. Though then when the valuer from the bank goes round, they knock 10% off the sale price to cover their back. As valuers have been sued previously because banks are left with assets they cant shift when the client defaults, valuers now are making sure they provide values which they know full well a bank will get for the property if they have to sell it quickly. So, back to our couple. They then get a mortgage offer based on the new value of £180k for the house, and the 85% loan now means they would be offered a mortgage of £153k, not the £170k they had budgeted for. So, unless they can find £17k down the back of the sofa, they are left with two options. 1, try to renegotiate a 10% discount from the seller, or option 2, walk away dejected. Have a search on the internet for "mortgage lender undervaluing" and see what comes up. This is not necessarily driving prices down because sellers generally know full well what their house is worth, and sometimes the valuer takes 10% off a price which has already been negotiated below the asking price. Therefor vendors are unlikely to budge, as very few will sell their house at a giveaway price just because a bank wants to know they can sell it in 2 minutes flat if the new owner defaults.

There is one stand pass left, but I'll have to bring it with me on the day, drop me a pm with your number and I'll pass you mine so we can arrange a handover Sunday morning . You will still need to buy an entry ticket on the gate now though and we can refund £6 of it. -

I'm hoping to receive the tickets in the next few days, so depending on postal action I may post these to everyone, but given the possibility for strike action i may just decide to have these handed to people at the gate by a generous soul hopefully -
Is there anyone local to Chesterfield who owns a paint thickness guage that they would be willing to either lend me or at least take a few measurements for me. I have come across an "issue" with the new car, and I believe it could be a repair thats been done either at the dealers or the factory befre I took delivery. I would dearly like to get some readings taken before I travel to the dealers tomorrow to rip someones head off and reject the car. Any help much appreciated, and if its possible to pop over this evening and collect it or use it, that would be brilliant Thanks, Chris.

Folks, The tickets are being posted out now. (as long as you have sent me your postal address as reqested via PM). There are still 9 places left on the discount list for this event and we have 4 car stand passes left. If you want to join us on the sunday, we have 4 spaces left on the stand, and can still honour the discount of £6 per Sunday ticket and £10 per weekend ticket, though you will have to purchase your entry on the gate and come see one of us afterward now. Any last minute takers for the remaining 4 club stand spaces? -

So far we have 7 out of the first 15 confirmed. The tickets will be being purchased today - so anyone out of the first 15 confirming after 4pm today will need to pay the gate price of £20, and we will refund £15 of that (the price of the tickets that we are providing free). The +1 tickets for those confirming after 4pm today will also be discounted by the same £7.50 as before, but again this will be off the gate price. Please can any remaining people confirm asap today. 1. H5 - confirmed 2. Dunker 3. Scott 4. Chilli Red +1 - confirmed 5. Martin W - confirmed 6. BulletMagnet - confirmed 7. May not have had standard gtr wheels? Still, at least they have liberal gun laws in the US. Something o hope the owner takes advantage of when/if they find those responsible.

Nope the spill was left, but on the road it was a nice puddle at the side which propmtly dissapeared down the drain, and in the car park it is in an area out of the way and will again wash down the grates that we have when we get the next downpour.

The good thing is, it runs for the length of the warranty too. I dont suppose its much different to the merc/bmw etc offerings, just nice to know its there. Also extends to europe apparently too.

Its something we thought would be a good addition so as to recognise former team members and perhaps also others within the community whom have contributed greatly. This is an idea we are working on but nothing confirmed just as yet.

My brother and I have just had our first experience of this. Unfortunately my brothers car, all of 48 hours old, sprung a massive diesel leak, dumping about 30 litres of diesel all over the works car park and ajoining road. Noticed it last night when leaving the office at about 5.20pm. Pulled the car back into the car park and called Jaguar assist. They offered to collect the car and deliver a courtesy car (also jaguar) by 5.35! As we still have the old cars, we declined this offer as there was little point as my brother only lives about 4 miles away. Advised them that they may as well collect first thing in the morning. They duly did. 9am sharp as promised, a flatbed turns up, takes the car away and we have had a call back advising that the car should be returned by about 4pm today. Full tank of fuel put back in, car throroughly cleaned and a full valet, as an extra measure they ran a deodoriser through the air con just in case there was any lingering smell of diesel in the car (which there wasnt anyway). Have to say I am incredibly impressed. Obviously a fuel return hose should not have worked loose in the first 48 hours, but these things happen, and the way they corrected the problem is 1st class.

You can have jokes and off topic chat, but it doesnt alway have to revolve around T&A. Its just an area where we can talk about all sorts of stuff not necesarily Z related. We dont have to be Z anoraks all the time -

Apologies if it seemed over harsh - its a difficult job in moderating a forum, we dont want to be seen as a modern day gestapo in censoring every little bit of humour, but then again we have to maintain some standard of decency. Its trying to draw a line at a certain point and then classifying what is over the line and what is within which is the difficult job. So sorry if it seemed like yours was no worse than another which was left alone, perhaps that one should have gone too - but then what about the one which is almost as bad as that, and the one that is just behind that one. Its a grey area, and I know we all try our best to keep things fun whilst still allowing some cheeky posts. Hopefully on balance we get things right most of the time -

I would think the 360 (top) and the T350 ? (5th) look surviveable, but the others dont look surviveable to me. -

Just another polite request, please could we have any more additions or confirmations as soon as possible please We shall be booking with the organisers shortly and we need confirmed numbers from this club. The reason I say this club, is that we may well be joined by guys from the 300ZX club and the Z club. Knowing the numbers for ours club as a start will make it easier to keep the organisers updated on how much space we will need for any extras from the Z club and the 300ZX guys. With the parade lap hopefully showing off all models of the cars, it would be good to get all the models together in one area for the show so getting confirmed numbers now will help greatly 1.
