I didnt find anything offensive about your post John. No need to tread on eggshells, Ive not posted up about anything Jag related for ages! Its not your fault that my issues didnt get sorted by either Jaguar or Hatfields. Its not to say that other peoples experiences will be the same. Indeed the impression I got from Gordon Lamb is that had I bought the car from them, my ownership experience would possibly have been completely different - the service I got from them for the Nissan was good too - the only reason I dont like the Nissan garage at Chesterfield is that the car park is always rammed with vehicles for sale, so they dont have adequate room for your car. They have addressed that at the Land Rover section of Gordon Lamb, probably out of necessity, but the spaces are huge and I dont feel at all bothered about parking the car there. But you know what they say about opinions, everyones got one.

True - I must say, if John was running Jaguar I'm certain that the issues I had would have been resolved much quicker and much more to my satisfaction. Out of all the people I spoke to or wrote to he was probably the most helpful and certainly seemed to be the only employee at Jaguar that actually genuinley cared about the car/s I'd bought, and that includes the MD. I have to ask, why bother giving customers tours of the factory and showing them fancy videos about how proud Jaguar are of their products, when if customers write to them about issues thay have with the product, they simply get told "speak to your dealer" ? It seems that the problem, which is NOT unique to Jaguar is that the manufacturer wants to pass anything negative off to the dealer and just concentrate on building cars - the dealer in turn just wants to concentrate on selling cars, and often for many more brands than one manufacturer, so what do they care about one or two cars from one manufacturer? The dealer will say its just a fault during the manufacturers production, and the manufacturer just says take it up with the dealer. Nobody actually takes ownership of the customers issue with the product and sorts it out. Many even create a third entity just for customer service, which has no responsibility to the manufacturer or dealers, so they cant authorise free services or upgrades or anything else that will actually appease the customer. To this day I still dont know how the paint issues arose on my car, at the factory, at the dealers - nobody ever did own up. Hopefully the people at the helm of Jaguar will eventually be replaced with people that share Johns passion for the brand and actual concern for customers that dont receive what the marketing material leads them to believe they should.

To be fair, I wrote to Jaguar the manufacturer about the issue/s and the response was "your contract of sale is with the dealer". They simply didn't want to do anything about the problem at all. They rejected out of hand my request for what would have been probably a couple of hundred quid part from Jaguar as adequate compensation, as did the dealer. So in return for having a damaged car, having it sent away for repair twice and having a decent area of the paintwork not fully match the rest (there are still differences in one side to the other noticeable now), I have received precisely ZERO from Jaguar or Hatfields in compensation, not even an offer of a cut price service, never mind any actual compensation. On the plus side, we have been using the Jaguar service centre Gordon Lambs in Chesterfield, and they couldn't be any more different to Hatfields. They are actually brilliant. In some ways I feel sorry for them in Chesterfield Gordon Lamb. They are authorised for service, but only sell the Land Rover marque, not the Jaguars. In my personal opinion they are the type of dealer that should be selling Jaguar, and not Hatfields. If it weren't for the experience Ive had from Jaguar, and I could attribute all my issues to just the dealer Hatfields, then I may have actually considered buying a RR from Gordon Lamb when its time to replace the XF.

Split as suggested. Heres my view: Ive posted my thoughts on Jaguar, and will continue to do so whenever I choose and feel it appropriate to a thread. Myself and my brother spent around £90k in cash with Jaguar, and have driven the cars for well over a year now. That gives me every right to give my opinion/review if I choose to do so. If anyone from Jaguar doesnt like the fact that I am utterly dissapointed with the quality of the car and aftersales service provided then, quite frankly, tough. Ive tried posting my views on Jaguar forums in an effort not to voice it here, however in my opinion those forums seem to be based on a moderation manual written by Kim Jong Il. Post anything negative about Jaguar on a Jaguar forum and your user account suddenly disappears. Try and find a section on a Jaguar forum where you can discuss poor service from dealers, issues with the manufacturer and moans about various parts not covered under warranty. You can't. If you want to moan about Nissan and them not helping you or the build quality you arent happy with, feel free. We aren't here to sell Nissans cars, we are here to discuss them, good points and bad and hopefully help find solutions for people that do have problems. Thats what a community should do, and I believe does do very well here. If other people on here make comments such as "talk to Chesterfield about Jaguar", then thats up to them. Its a bit of a joke, as they know Im not happy, and they know I tend to go on and on and on, so them saying talk to chesterfield is just a bit of poking fun at me and my experience rather than actually wanting to slate Jaguar. When we had the meal at Wales on the Friday night when I arrived at the bar some said "hello", "hi" etc - and I think it was Colin who just said "Hows the Jag Chris?" He knew it was a bit of fun and we had a laugh about it.

You think highly of me. Do you think I tidied up or just had another garage built round the back and simply moved all the junk to save tidying up?
-
au contraire. The Zeds stance is much better, even if it isnt lowered - with just the bodykit it gets pretty close to the floor. See the planks under the Zed, they are to get it in and out as the front splitter catches that tiny shallow ramp into the garage More luggage space, you can park it places you wouldnt park the other, it turns just about as many heads, the parts, insurance and maintenance are all cheaper, the club is a lot busier and Ive met loads of friends through it and I dont have to stop every 150 miles for fuel if I want to go to Modified Live down at Brands Hatch. To name but a few. The Z, quite rightly, is going nowhere for now

Im going to lock this now to save the thread being brought up over time. If anyone feels they must add something please contact one of the team.

Im same as you Dave, probably not get the Z out until Spring. Ever since Tracy had her bump in the Z during bad weather, it doesnt come out during the winter. Shes all tucked in now ready for a winter hibernation. Just got to get some bits off and powdercoated ready for next year The Z and her sister are all tucked up in bed now.

Z4 Review Thread - First Impressions to Final Word
Chesterfield replied to njlee's topic in Other Cars
Great review indeed. The wife spotted one of these when we were at the petrol station the other day and commented that she wuite liked them, they look an awful lot better than the first incarnations of the Z3 and previous Z4. Though she isnt bothered about changing cars just yet, its handy to have a first hand opinoin from someone who knows what they are talking about. I didnt realise they were £50K though - jebus! Thats ridiculous. 20% VAT coming soon as well makes it even less appealing to buy new imho. -

Meguiars detailing seminar 27th November 2010
Chesterfield replied to Envy Valeting's topic in Announcements
Yes as per Martins note - we need confirmed attendees only please as Tim has put an awful lot of effort into this. I know this sounds incredibly hypocritical of me after now having to pull out. Im gutted Ive had to do this as I usually attend everything I put my name down for - feel awfully guilty, but if a confirmed attendee can take may place it is much appreciated. -
Sadly Ive seen this in the flesh around Chesterfield once. I was sick a little bit.

2011 Nissan GT-R sets 0-100km/h time of 3.046sec:
Chesterfield replied to SwanageDave's topic in Other Cars
That is uber quick! Unfortunately the price tag with the new model £75k If I recall, is pushing it well toward the territory of other supercars. Admitedly, the other supercars are not as quick, even the new LP560 or 458 Italia wont match it on 0-60, and they are double the price or more, but £75k is getting well into the level where badge counts for quite a bit (justified or not), and for all its technical and performance brilliance, the Nissan badge wont win out in a badge fight. For sheer performance its hard to beat for the money though, and if its all about the performance and capabilities round a track, then I see no competition on a £ per performance basis to be honest. -
I assumed it would be driven from Calais all the way down. May as well take in a couple of days worth of sights in France along the way

Excellent. Shove that up yer ringpiece alonso! Gutted for webber, really wanted him to win if it wasn't going to be hamilton. Red bull are going to need a bigger helmet for vettel next year, watch his character "blossom" now he's got a wdc we thought schumacher was arrogant. I have a feeling we haven't seen anything yet. mclaren didn't have a bad season IMHO, second in the constructors is great. Both drivers finished strong too. Happy for massa too, as it would have been awful for him to see the pompus alonso prancing around with the wdc again after being ordered to conceed 7 points, which would have effectively been the points that won him the championship if alonso had finished fourth today. Roll on next season and congratulations red bull!

Stop off in Milau along the way. Make sure to go to the visitor centre under the viaduct before driving over it, it's spectacular:

I could probably come up with two forms of punch, one fizzy (with coke) and one still (without coke). Both would taste bloody awful, but only the first glass

Highly doubt it's true, but not got access to a propper browser to go hunting. It's the section on engine management that's designed to get people talking I believe, and can't see how it is anything but a hoax. The mot system is designed to test a vehicles safety for the road, not whether it's been modified in any way. Unless of course the EU are paying to equip every mot testing station with every reader for every model if ecu ever produced, then I call complete crap on it tbh.

Nooooooooo! Webber in 5th arrrgghhhh! I really don't want to see that arrogant prick alonso win! Hamilton, do us Brits proud and stick it into alonso on the first corner, take one for the colonies and let's see webber crowned. Don't hand it to the spaniard. Come on lewis your chance to get your own back and ruin alonsos championship at the last race, you would be a hero greater than when you actually won the championship! A schumacer type "incident" taking alonsos car out would be truly magnificent!

In a dyslexic way Wonder if it's the same dyslexic Essex girl I once had a night out with. It was a great date right up until we got back to her place and she cooked my sock What an utter abomination. If you are dyslexic and read that as abortion, then that works too.

Is the "damage" still of comedy quality? Last pics I saw of the "damage" looked like someone with even less photoshop skills than me had been let loose with a blur tool.

They were using the stick and mirror to look under the zed for bombs is my guess. if it carries on like this for long enough, the general population will have a backlash against the successive over pc governments and take matters into their own hands. It's already starting to cause angry topics of discussion amongst what I class as one of the more intelectual forum communities we have here. How long before enough people become annoyed enough to bring on the holy war that these extremists want? That should be enough motivation for Muslim communities to oust these extremists themselves before they are dragged into the holy war that these morons want whether they like it or not. They won't though, and there in lies the problem.
