  1. Paid £6.5K for it, I got 2 box files with the car detailing absolutely everything that was done to it including a DVD of the complete rebuild when it was built in 1991. Parts alone cost £11k back in 1991 and Andy Parrot spent 2 1/2 years building it. Engine sounds sweet with the twin dellortos, Engine spec as follows: 1641cc VW Type 2. 041 VW heads polished and ported with 40x36 Stainless steel valves and hardened valve seats for use with unleaded fuel. HD springs and retainers, bolt-up rocker shafts and swivel adjusters. Eurorace H grind high lift camshaft with standard stroke VW crankshaft. Lightened and eight-dowelled flywheel. Melling high volume oil pump with external remote oil filter and front mounted 16 row oil cooler all connected using stainless steel braided hoses. Twin Dellorto DRLA 40 Carburettors with K&N air filters, Facet electric fuel pump with Filter King filter & regulator. Bosch 009 distributor and ignition, Smoothcut rev limiter. Engine fully blueprinted and balanced. Scatâ road exhaust. Transmission: Standard 1300 gearbox with rigid 200mm clutch and urethane mounts.Scatâ short throw gear shifter.
  2. Both videos were shot last year,so car is exactly as in pics, shame it never seen the light of day for 20 years, after it was built in 1991. The owners son-in -law got it MOT'd last year and took it to a couple of VW shows where it won some trophies. It was a present for my wife but I also like bugs so hopefully get it out for a few runs when the weather improves Managed to buy it just before a Chinese gent who wanted to ship it to Hong Kong.
  3. After owning a bug convertible a few years back my wife always fancied another as a summer runabout. Spotted this one for sale on Classic Cars and I'm now the proud owner. Lots of history and built by Andy Parrot back in 1991 when he was only 20 and took him 2 1/2 years to build, sold by him to fund an engineering degree in 1991, he is now a drivetrain engineer with Lotus. Dry stored for the last 20 years, hope to take it to a few VW events over the Summer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wuvlEQ6japU

  5. Pi$$es me off this but it's well known the scum target people at Xmas because they know there is usually valuable xmas presents in the house. Mate has one of these devices that detects movement at the door and sets off a vicious dog barking sound, as good as a dog but without any downsides and it's pretty realistic. But like every deterrent if the thief is determined enough they'll chance their luck because if the get caught they'll just get the usual slap on the wrist and be back thieving in no time. Worse still if you do catch them in your house and lay a finger on them they seem to have more rights then you even though they are on your property.
  6. I'm quite sure for an extra £1 they would customise them for you Vicky
  7. Just spotted these on Amazon, read the reviews, I'm sure every lady would want their Zed to have matching eyelashes http://www.amazon.co.uk/iBoutique-Headl ... d_sim_ce_4
  8. Played a bit of football and done a bit of running in my youth. Now play bowls and do a bit of mountain biking and Paragliding.
  9. It was me who posted the original thread, I'll try and find the pics as they me be on my old computer. If I come across them I'll repost the pics. The mod was pretty straight forward and took me around 2 hours in total
  10. Guys Just noted an update to the software for the 370Z module which says "to support Euro model remote" so maybe this will sort out the problem with the UK 370Z see link, if you go to this link: http://www.mods4cars.com/m4cupdate/inde ... STHFNN1#cl you should be able to download the latest software to your module. You need to install the windows programme first to your PC to allow you to update your module instructions on how to do this can be found here: http://www.mods4cars.com/m4cupdate/manual/en.php I purchased my Smartop Module from Mods4Cars for the SL500, was very easy to fit as they had a installation Video and clear pics on their website for each module. SL 500 module took approx 30mins to fit and only required 4 connections and was supplied with the proper connections for the car so no wiring was altered. Module can be deactivated through the steering column switches so if the car is going in for service repair etc, it it doesn't show up when interrogating the electronics through the OBDII socket, best to programme it via the USB socket before installation as you can bring up a table on your PC and just set the parameters for each function. The SL500 module also controls the windows and CL as well as the roof via the cars remote. Found the after sales support to be very good and any questions were answered quickly If you go onto the mods4cars website you can download the programme required to set up the module and update each module to latest software version as they sometimes tweek the software to perform other functions after feedback from users etc. Installation in the 370Z is a bit more time consuming looking at the following instructions: http://www.mods4cars.com/sms/db/smartto ... all/en.php Could be LHD 370Z wiring is slightly different from UK cars but site doesn't specify it's for LHD cars only. Only thing I found is when connecting the supplied power and ground spade connectors it is difficult to see if they are connected properly when pushed together as the plastic covers are opaque, they do mention that this needs to be checked first if you are having problems with activating the module which is indicated by the green LED flashing on the module when activated with the remote. So far can't fault the module or after sales support, and I'm sure if there are any gremlins with the 370Z module they will sort them out.
  11. Also look at the Veissman range of combi's (see links) had a 35Kw Vitodens 100W combi fitted 2 years ago in a 3 bed house and so far no problems whatsoever managed to get it online for a just over £800. http://www.hawkheatingsupplies.co.uk/Vi ... 5KW_Combi/ http://www.hawkheatingsupplies.co.uk/us ... %20res.pdf German engineering at it's best, 3 years warranty on all parts and labour extended to 5 years if fitted by a Viessman engineer which you'll find very hard to match anywhere for a combi boiler. Very easy to work on and IMO one of the best designed combi's out there that rivals any Worcester/Bosch etc. Biggest problem I found with the older combi's was they used rubber diaphragm's to operate the Diverter Valve and the rubber deteriorated over time, and the valve doesn't work properly, Viessman use a motorised valve which is far more reliable. High quality stainless Steel heat exchanger guaranteed for 10 years against corrosion which plagued early condensing boilers due to the acidic condensate.
  12. Just been sent this deal today see links: http://livingsocial.com/deals/79482-fou ... sdc_id=214 http://www.exhilaratescotland.com/super ... tland.html Spoke to the guy who runs it and he says you will get the chance to drive at least an Aston, Ferrari, caterham, Porsche etc. he says he also has an Evora and GTR He said you get to change cars around every 25 mins over the 4 hour period, as the driver or passenger in each car and will be able to drive fast.
