I wont be bringing my Z to support team custard Im afraid. As my brother and Tracy are coming, and my brother may be bringing his other half to watch, then it makes sense we only use one car. Unfortunately its black, so Ill be looking like a supporter for the opposition
-
You do need that may posts to advertise, however if the item is in the obvious interest of the Z community (i.e. not a Non Z related item) Then its fine. As the pop charger is a popular mod, Im sure its fine to leave the advert

Karting Team required - Thursday 24th May
Chesterfield replied to jonathan73's topic in 350Z General
Ive asked my brother and he is up for it - so if thats OK, we are back to a full team again. Beavis, remind me to have a chat about the wheel refurb - as always with these things Ive looked again and its not as bad when assesing it for the second time. Its in two places, just on the rim luckily and not the spokes of the wheel at all, its in two places (one going up the kerb and once coming down I imagine) about 3 or 4 inch long each mark, and quite deep. Needless to say she was slightly in the dog house, and was quite close to having a £150 metro from the motor auctions. -

Have the karts got alloys? If so, keep them the bloody hell away from my mrs !!! Anyone know a decent place to get a GT4 wheel refurbed? On the plus side, it makes the argument for getting new rims a little easier. -
Ive taken the liberty of altering the post to display the thumbnails - click each one to enlarge Lovely car - but of course I am a little biassed.

If you need email addresses for people here that you dont have yet Steve, let me know - its easier than sending numerous PM.s Just stick everyone in the BCC box to hide everyones email addresses from everyone else.

Received the tickets today Steve thank you very much Ive received two green passes, and a yellow sheet to put registration and mobile number on. Also a copy of the magazine and club membership form, and instructions sheet. Excellent Is there anything special required for the parade lap, any other form etc, or is it a case of turn up to the driver briefing and obtain the necessary pass after attending the breif? Thanks again for sorting this out for all us 350z drivers, its very much appreciated and should be a brilliant event for all Z owners to remember.

arrrghhh! Anyone else want to do this - otherwise I can ask my brother tomorrow morning. -
They make glue remover now, discovered this after superglueing my fingers together before. Very useful stuff! Yes its the Z on the grill - now known as the "Redzed Z"
-
I can fully vouch for what cruel and unpredictable beasts these Z's can be. OK Ill admit it. It took me over 2 hours to glue a Z on the front of my car. Has anyone EVER found a superglue that sticks the majority of plastics? At one point I toyed wth the idea of melting the chuffing thing on. It was all the badges fault
-
How come I can get a sticker on first time, but couldn't stick a Z on my grill with superglue for love nor money? Its on now by the way, but I wouldnt be surprised if I left it in Europe at some point.

Pfff - dont you know anything... Its "All Star Wrestler".
-
Not a great deal of the stripes myself - I only like those on Vipers and AC Cobras. Are those tints legal? Look very dark to me.

I dont own a saab.

Ive still got to put my sticker in the car. A job for tonight I think Sorry for the confusion David. As has been posted before, there are actually two sites in the UK for the 350Z. There are various reasons for there being two sites in the UK (there used to be one some time ago). Although it appears people have pointed out one obvious difference already. As above, we dont mind giving out the link to the other site, and it seems that you may have been speaking to a chap who is a member of the other place so hopefully you will be able to get in touch with him if you need to. You know how in times gone by we used to ship people off to Australia when we no longer wanted them in this country. Then hundreds of years later Australia actually became one of the leading destinations for people leaving the UK for good in search of a better life? Well G'day

What can people be done for if they misuse a disabled badge? Is it just a parking fine or can their license be affected? Perhaps if people were to receive points for abusng the system it may make some think twice.

Since buying the yellow one, Ive had two "incidents" that Im not particularly proud of. I have never confronted anyone in years, yet in the last month Ive had two such issues. It really depresses me that I have allowed some numpty to drag me down to their level. I thought I was above all that, but some times the red mist comes down and I revert to some knuckle scraping neanderthal (too many nights out in Chesterfield methinks ) The latest such incident was at a local 24 hour petrol station slash mini tesco. There are about 6 parking spaces and 3 pumps. I was on my way to a meal out with friends but needed some cash - so we called at this garage on the way. I generally try to avoid it at all costs unless its some ungodly hour as I know it will be busy, usually with traffic queueing on the road just to get in. Anyway - I pull in and there are about three cars in front of me waiting for spaces, so while Im waiting Tracy goes to the cash machine. One car gets tired of waiting for a space and leaves, and the other two take the next two spaces made vacant during the next minute or so. So now ive moved round to near the cash point and I am the next in line for a space - as it happens no space becomes available by the time Tracy has returned from the cash machine (about 45 seconds after I became the first in the queue). Just as tracy gets in the car I get a knock on the window. It turns out to be a chap tht has just pulled into the last empty pump and decides he wants to speak to me before filling his car up. So I wind the window down and the following takes place.... Me: "yes?" Merc Driver: "You are holding everyone up mate" Me: "well there are no spaces, so what can I do about it?" Merc Driver: "F*** Off" (gesturing with his thumb to the road). Of course Tracy did not take too kindly to that kind of language being used for no reason. The problem was, the tirade of abuse that was about to flow from my mouth was going to really upset her Before Tracy could finish saying "There's no need for that", I had turned off the ignition, knocked it out of gear, taken the seatbelt off, and was out of the car. Having a go at me for no reason is one thing, using that kind of abuse for no reason whilst Tracy is in the car is quite another. I made it pretty clear that saying that to my face now I was out of my car would perhaps not be in his best interests, unless of course he felt looking fo his teeth under his car was an appealing activity and that by taking that action he was actually holding the traffic up even more, as I was no longer in my vehicle to move it. I was dissapointed in myself that I acted in such an agressive manner, but he just caught me at a bad moment and was completely out of order. I then spent the next half an hour wishing I had just responded with some witty retorte or put down, and kicking myself that I dragged myself down to his level. Grrrr... Im sure it was the pure fact that it was some young (ish ) lad in a bright yellow sporty car with a loud exhaust that made him act in that manner, and I would hope that had it been Tracy in the Altea, he may have chosen a different course of action.

It is very annoying - Tracys Dad has a blue badge because he cant walk further than about 100 yards due to a knackered knee. Really annoys me when you see people who are clearly using a friends or relatives card to get round any parking. Having said that, we may be prejudging the 430 driver, he could be just like Tracys dad and have a bad leg that prevents them walking very far - not a practical car for someone with that sort of disability, but perhaps they always wanted one?
-
Hopefully we have drawn a line under the recent issues, so I trust nobody minds this being locked now.
-
DONT TWIST IT !!! Its actually a little more involved. http://www.350z-tech.com/zwiki/Shift_Kn ... eplacement As I couldnt be bothered to go through that whole process, I simply cleaned up the top of mine with Autosol instead.

On a more serious note - please dont use the forum name or logo in any corespondence with these people. Its taken me quite a while to put what appears to be a stop to the spam posts that kept appearing, including some rather adult material that we would rather not see on the site. If you are going to prod these animals with a stick, please dont cause them to run in our direction. Ta, Chris.

You certainly arent being cheeky asking for help - thats one of the main points of the forum. There are plenty of import owners on the site, so they will be able to advise what to look for (documentation etc). Other items to look for common to all Z's are in the FAQ section.

For what its worth, I have posted my thoughts on the other thread which no doubt was the catalyst for this very thread. It would appear that what needs to be said has already been said on this thread. As for personal issues and the arguments that may occur from time to time on the forum, lets try to rise above them. Although it may be hard - take a look at this, it may help:
