  1. Next question- anyone know what coloured wires supply the front R +L speakers ? ( thanks for all your help.. I'm really grateful)
  2. I think you might be right! Cheers for the RS-Online tip. Unfortunately I couldn't find anything even vaguely resembling this plug. However if I do come across its 'partner' I'll let you know- I couldn't have been the first to have stared at it wondering what it could be.
  3. Hi Zedsters! Am 2/3rds the way thru a complete audio overhaul including a DIY boot-build ( pics to follow). Would like to 'tap' into the OEM loom in the boot for the ( new) front speakers only and run them from the Front R+L Channels of an Alpine MRP-F300 amp- I'm am too scared to try and cut thru the door connecters and run new wire. Having removed the BOSE amp in the boot I'm presented with this connector to the speaker loom from the back of the amp. Would anybody recognise what spec this connector is and where I might be able to get it's opposing fitting connector (possibly with a loom attached- even a custom fabrication). I'd prefer to be able to just 'plug-in' rather the 'chop-in' to the loom so everything could be put back to its original state in the future. Cheers.
  4. Someone must have done it. Yoko - how did you bypass the Bose? By just disconnecting from behind the OEM head-unit??
  5. Could anyone enlighten me as to how I could remove the polystyrene block surrounding the Bose amp in the boot without resorting to breaking/chopping it up into pieces. My one just refuses to budge- even with a fair amount of persuasion. Cheers!
  6. Hiya All! I am sure this has been mentioned before but could someone please enlighten me as to where to look to find the Bose Amp. Was having a good route-about in the boot yesterday . Maybe I’m going blind but I just couldn’t find it. I am now in the process of considering how I might go about replacing the rather sad excuse for factory in-car-entertainment that Nissan saw fit to place. Sound only out of right-hand channel anyone..... Ideas include replacement: head-unit front speakers rear speakers Sub in custom enclosure located between strut-brace and rear passenger panel Amplification Q: Would it be possible to bypass the Bose Amp and ‘tap into’ the speaker loom in the boot at some point just beyond the output end of the amp. If so, where abouts would I have to look? Is there a simple connector that could be used once the Bose amp is disconnected ? Having investigated the possibility of re-wiring the speakers it appears running new cable to the front doors is complete missions-( it would involve having to drill/melt thru the existing connectors.) I appreciate that using the existing wiring might not suit the bat-eared audio purists out there, but in as noisy a cabin as the 350’s I’m not sure I could tell the difference...... Much thanks for your help/ in-put
  7. Had same thing this morning after a 1 hour fairly relaxed drive on mixed roads - Cruise would turn on and off but the set light blinked. When I switched the engine off at a stand-still after coming to a halt at the next set of traffic lights, I couldn't start the engine again - it refused to turn over and just 'clicked' on the key-turn ( much to my embarrassment when the lights turned green with a nice long queue of morning commuters behind me). After flicking on the hazards and considering what to do next everything seemed to return back to normal- started first flick and then behaved itself. Drive home couple of hours later- normal...... any suggestions?? cheers for advice!
  8. Any ideas from you Tech-ZedHedz before my local garage says 'can't find any problem Sir..' Tricky one to describe but I'll give it a go: When re-applying very gentle throttle inputs, in particularly after 'coasting' around 2-2.5K rpm, the power seems to come back on with a slight but noticeable jerk before smoothly accelerating again up the rev range. It appears to be worse going downhill and less on an incline leading me to suspect some play in the transmission(?). The rear transaxles have been 'rotated' in the past due to the infamous Zed-click. I have also had a curious episode of very jolty running that occured under cruise control whereby the revs would rise and fall in an abrupt manner speeding up and slowing down the car. When taken out of gear the engine idled held very high at around 1.5K -reminding me of the days when one had to pull the choke lever out ( am I really that old?? ) whilst still cold. After a few miles it appeared to settle. Local garage counldn't find anything on diagnostics. Any ideas?????
  9. How about that for a shine?? Not got quite that gleam at the mo' in all this October muck. Ps. Thanks to the Berk in a Merc who almost took my wing-mirror off driving in the middle of the road in Selborne.
  10. Hi All!! Much to my horror this morning, after lifting the bonnet to re-fill the washer bottle, I found all the alloy surfaces - the block, plenum, throttle body etc plus quite a few of the large bolts that hold various brackets to be covered in a thick white crust that I can only assume to be salt related. This is despite having pootled about for almost all of the winter months in a VW Bora tdi to avoid the winter salting of the roads. I can only assume a fine salty mist must have entered to engine bay on the very rare occasions that the Zed was used causing corrosion on all unprotected surfaces. (can't seem to transfer photos from my phone to this computer) Any ideas for its removal/prevention/protection would be much appreciated Richard
  11. switching the ignition off and on again at the next junction was only way I could cancel the ESP Off light. Hasn't come back since (following 50 mile round trip) I also checked brake fluid levels- seemed OK to me. Mysterous... Oh, and I certainly wasn't doing donuts- in fact as the engine was still slightly cold & I was taking it quite easily...
  12. Set off to work as usual. Cold-ish morning (not freezing). Went approx 1 mile when both the Brake (not ABS) warning light + ESP Off light + Slippery Surface warning light ALL came on at same time! Nothing felt unusual to me. ESP would not go out with the button below dashboard. Any ideas Zed Gurus???
  13. tesco metro? I parked outside a One-Stop in Chineham the other day.
  14. Hi! You were in a Blade heading from the M3 Hook interchange- joined the A30 towards Old Basing. I was in the Chilli behind.
