  1. I have a much more simple view. Ice core samples show temperatres were considerably higher hundreds of thousands of years ago than they are today, and dinosaurs did not drive cars. Its a somewhat neanderthal aproach to the issue, but it gets me by. Its also quite interesting to see a climate change topic debated on a forum dedicated to 3.5 Litre Petrol engined cars Not that its not a valid topic, but from the ouitside it could be viewed as a littel hypocritical
  2. erm - none from me val, couldnt find my online banking details to log on - ill sort it today - honest EDIT - to save forgetting - Ive found the details and done it now!
  3. Jonathan, Mine and Tracys is about £580 - it is garaged though, and we live in S41 (although its Chesterfield, they class it as on the fringe of Sheffield - which is handy for their premiums). We are with Direct Line.
  4. Fantastic Liam. Im sure the arrival of these wheels was hyped more than many films They really do look good, sadly I would have to convince the boss that the GT4 rims dont cut it on an UY! Need a meet to show them off now
  5. And here was me thinking they had shipped him an Audi badge as a present.
  6. I thought they were going to re-deliver on Monday? Or is it typical useless service from a delivery company. These delivery companies are great if you are on the dole or have the luxury of working from home all the time - pretty useless for the average working folk though.
  7. - The GT4 I have on my desktop sports that very number plate. Still not convinced on that orange, but I will reserve judgement until I seeit in the flesh. Will be interesting to see what Top Gear make of it
  8. The reasons for the death rate is obvious in that motorcycles offer far less impact protection. But the levels of fatalities remain the same regardless of the reasons. It is the government or saftey groups that have made the link between speed and death, then proceed to use devices that cannot detect motorcycles. It appears the link between speed and death is fine until it comes to the devices that catch the speeders, then its not so much down to the death rates and probabilities, but more the probability of "catching" a speeder with a forward facing unit. With rear facing units, you get chance to slow down before you are "caught". Whereas by the time you see a front facing unit, it may be too late. That is the only reason vans and specs are front facing - because they catch more people out - absolutely sod all to do with reducing death rates - if it were, they would target all road users evenly - and not use devices clearly designed for maximum revenue generation. To clarify, its not bikers "fault" that they are impervious to the newer camera technologies, but this anomoly is somewhat clear evidence that cameras have less to do with saftety than the authorities would have us beleive in my opinoin.
  9. Yes - when I had work done on my previous Z, I was constantly told "it will be ready tomorrow", then, "It will be ready tomorrow" followed by "definitley tomorow". And so on. It would appear that some places have completely lost any conception of what customer service is. On the other hand, the dealers in Eastbourne (Caffyns) that I bought my new one from could not have been better - even gave Tracy a bunch of flowers when we picked the car up.
  10. Thats "up to" 50%. On some roads motorcyclists account for far more than 17% of deaths. In Lincolnshire for example on some roads they apparently account for a HIGHER percentage of deaths than car drivers/passengers. Even using the figures above, 17% of deaths from motorcyclists is MASSIVE! if they account for around 2%% of road users but 17% of deaths, yet car drivers account for say 80% of road users but 50% of deaths. For a single group of road users to account for a death rate almost 9 times higher than their frequency on the road would infer, and safetey camera partnerships to continue to invest in camera technology that does not even target that group is absolute madness. I firmly believe that these "safety" cameras, are no no longer about safety at all, if they were, any new cameras would not be totally useless against the group most at risk of death on the road.
  11. Sorry to hear that Mike. 18 years! Thats a good innings for a cat isnt it? We have two - Guiness and Mackeson (on account of them being black and white). Tracy has had them from kittens from the RSPCA - they are part of the family - so understand how much the little chap must have meant.
  12. They make my blood boil. Motorcyclists account for approximately 2% of traffic on the roads of the UK, but up to 50% of all road deaths. Specs face forward, and Bikes dont have front numberplates. A prize to the first person who can find me an MP or Police Officer that can convince me these devices are being used for saftey rather than revenue generation when they are completely useless against a single group of road users that suffer 50% of the fatalities on our roads...
  13. I cant say Ive noticed that on mine - Ill have a look later if I remember.
  14. Very cheap Z from a seller with 0 feedback and the request to deal via email rather than ebay... Certain Scam.
  15. Our neigbours have fairly standard cars, Golfs, Audis, Vauxhalls, BMW 3 series - typical new estate type motors. One chap opposite who has now moved away used to be visited by daddy in one of these: Other than that there is noting really that noteable on our street.
  16. Yes we did used to own a Blue Roadster - but swapped it a few weeks ago. No real reason why, other than I suppose we fancied a change. A number of people have commented that we were bonkers to get rid of the roadster with the summer coming, and we have always had a convertible in some form for the last 8 years. Certainly was a nice afternoon for having the roof down yesterday Ive seen an 06 Blue roadster in Chesterfield, and then one with a private plate - could be the same car - there are also a few others from around the Chesterfield area here too. Myself - Yellow GT4 - Newbold Tim (lomoto oin this site) - Sunset coupe - toward Alfreton Jonathan (jonathan73 on this site) - black GT4 - toward Edwinstowe Michael (Bluffy) - GM coupe - Bolsover Theres a map of the members here: CLICK Hope you enjoy the site, we are a friendly bunch! Honest.
  17. Spotted in the Old House car park - left a spotted card in the window. Got me thinking about who might be having the summer fun in the roadster we sold. If you see this, I drive the yellow one parked next to yours when you left by the way
  18. Tyre'd of these jibes yet? EDIT - beaten to the punch
  19. I think Im going to raid my parents loft in the hopes of finding my Transformer toys - got to be worth something on ebay for the originals when this movie comes out.
  20. Tracy is the same with Watership down - but that doesnt affect me one little bit. So I actually came up with a cunning plan one day as revenge for the Snowman incident, when we visited Chatsworth farm shop with her parents, I bought myself a propper rabbit pie. Sat down with it at dinner, popped a video of Watership down in at a strategic point with the bright eyes song and started to tuck in. I thought that it would be a rather humourous method of getting my own back. I was wrong. We no longer speak about that day.
  21. If it makes you feel any better, to this day I cant watch the film "The Snowman" without crying (the bit where he melts). Tracy almost wet herself laughing at me when she found that one out. Now she starts checking the TV listings around November just to plan when we have to watch it. Thats evil I tell thee, just evil.
  22. Nor does optimus at the end either He is back in the movie by the looks of it though! Must have found some more batteries.
  23. Yep - thats worth a shot, some distribution places do take back to a central depot rather than a local one over the weekend though, so it may not be that local for Saturday morning. Worth a shot though.
  24. Re-live the moment.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6DLW2giMTc&NR=1
  25. If you go to the directory level above the "!sort-by-number" the site owner actually states that hotlinked images will be treated to the goatse treatment. Once you have viewed the images they stay in your browser cache, so you will not know that when you post them up everyone else is viewing something very different. Anyone who has not previously viewed the images on that site will recieve the shock image unless they view directly on that site and not through a linked image to another site. Anyway... When do you get a go in the Aston then Liam?
