Dunno whether it was just rubbish, but they apologized and Iet me go on my way IoI... I wonder what the crack was with the actual person if true!!?!? Sounds like they were taking a punt you had been drinking or something like that. But why would they do that if they 'knew' who it was? Sunset Zeds are quite a rare car on the roads, so it's acceptable to think they knew who was driving. The plate system only detects tax, mot and insurance, it doesn't list the registered owners details. These details can be got quite easy, though. Or, perhaps they genuinely thought they spotted someone they know to be banned from driving (unlawful activity) and only realised it was a case of mistaken identity after pulling the car over.
