It was hilarious, they stopped me because they thought I was someone they'd banned from driving very recentIy, apparently driving an orange 350z!!

Dunno whether it was just rubbish, but they apologized and Iet me go on my way IoI...

I wonder what the crack was with the actual person if true!!?!?

Numberplate recognition would have told them straight away

if that car was originally driven by a banned driver. Sounds like

they were taking a punt you had been drinking or something like that.

They have gone a bit mad over the last week or so in London with their new

drug detection kit, which I don't object to.

Sounds like bs! They can pull up the DVLA info to find out the driver's status. I'm always suspicious of rozzers.

But why would they do that if they 'knew' who it was?

Sunset Zeds are quite a rare car on the roads, so it's acceptable to think they knew who was driving. IMO :)

The plate system only detects tax, mot and insurance, it doesn't list the registered owners details. These details can be got quite easy, though.

It's a simple case of mistaken identity, nothing more.

Probably this, they're not allowed to pull you over for no reason, they must have a suspicion of unlawful activity. The were probably pulling you to see if they could "smell alcohol" or something and then when they realised you were clean they let you go.

Or, perhaps they genuinely thought they spotted someone they know to be banned from driving (unlawful activity) and only realised it was a case of mistaken identity after pulling the car over. Y'know, like they told him.

Just a suggestion.

The police can actually pull over anyone they want for any reason, that includes spot checks or just because they felt like it.

Sorry Will, off topic; however, why do you always double space your lines of text? Does your computer do this automatically lol?
