So this is by no means a major build thread.. just some minor fettling (famous last words).

Pics show the car as I got it and some progression along the way.

I have had the car a couple of months now and so far have completed the following and a few more bits in the pipeline.

2005 GT4.

Completed:

- good ol snow foam and de-stickering and general clean up

- number plates straightened!

- front drop links

- service

- DAB front discs and Hawk pads

- Tein lowering springs

- Spacers 20/25

- 4 x Goodyear Eagle F1 assymetric2's

- Wheel refurb in lightest shade of black chrome

- Full hunter alignment

- Mishimoto fans & shroud

- Boot springs sorted

- Headlamp correction

To do:

(in order of priority)

- Stubby 4"

- Gear knob

- Drop in Apexi air filter

- Exhaust & decats (Invidia Gemini + 60mm decat pipes, hoping this will be loud enough? just missed a Nismo one on here! boo!)

- Plugs

- Drivebelts

- Z badges

- Brake fluid upgrade

- Braided lines (Hosetechnik)

- new plates, clean simple

- clear rear fog

- Ding removal

- Scratch correction & Gtech finish

- replace OEM head unit (open to suggestion, must be clean and tidy fitment, no knobs etc..)

- MREV2 plenum & spacer

- manifold (DC?)

- better clutch & flywheel?

- throttle controller (apexi not available anymore..?)

- remap

- Blitz 60095 FRP rear spoiler (maybe)

Having looked at the pics again i've noticed the gaiter looks a little odd because the plastic piece is still in which gives the diameter of the old knob..

Can't see it's doing anything other than there to neaten the base to suit original knob.

Do people tend to take these out and re-cable tidy the gaiter to suit..?

Any thoughts on this one gents?

Remove plastic ring and neaten up with cable tidy?

Looking good B) Given me a few ideas for my GT4 and helped me decide to keep the alloys (looks so much better on the Tein's and spacers)

I agree that something needs doing with the gaiter. It's only a small thing but would annoy me. Unfortunately I can't advice on what to do as I still have the standard knob but I can't see there being a problem with doing what you suggest.

Will keep my eye on the thread!

Nice one Shezza..

Although I quite like the idea of exploring this:

I'm going to have a look at the ring inside the gaiter.. if it's something that can be removed easily, sourcing something like a plastic pulley the same size as the base of the new knob.. basically to re-create what has been done for the OEM knob but smaller to suit new, cable tidy gaiter like existing to create a new diameter creating a seamless transition between the two.....

Failing that if there are too many head scratches occur then i'll give Beavis a shout!
