Next mod on list is twin induction kits and so far have sourced k&n on eBay for £317 and just wondered what they were like quality wise and if there is a similar priced alternative and best place to buy from?

Cheers

Hi Chris, This is what Bems is recommending fyi; http://www.tarmacsportz.co.uk/GB/350z_06-08_Takeda_Retain_Short_Ram_Intakes/350z-350z-TR-3004P_.aspx

There are other choices on there though if you are willing to part with more cash. Link: http://www.tarmacsportz.co.uk/products.aspx?CategoryId=dd876c45-6d4a-41df-bc25-7c19903fe703

It is worth noting that the general consensus is that a good set of performance panel filters is the best for performance although if you're after more noise & a bit of under bonnet bling then the intakes are the way to go.

Most suffer from heat soak so even with a map will not perform as well as closed box and performance panel filters. Save the cash and get some high flow cats before the uprev instead...

That or HFC's would definitely be a better use of the cash imo.

Stillen air induction kits are good for avoiding heat soak but then for the HR you're talking £475-£540 for the intakes. I have a Stillen air induction kit on my DE Zed and that was £250 ~ with the polyurethane heat shield it's basically an enclosed box just like OEM but with a K&N cone filter inside.

is there anywhere that gives discount to members as I think that we will be getting some sort of induction kit as the car isn't tracked or anything so heat soak won't be an issue.

The standard dual airbox setup on the HR is a highly developed ram air system, which apparently gives the car an extra 9bhp or something at speed. The general consensus when I looked into modifying my HR was that the stock panel filter & air filter design was the best one to have. You could replace the filters with cosworth or hks ones but they gave zero performance benefits.

I changed to hks because they work out cheaper as they are washable and green ;)

If you want an induction kit then go for it. ;)

Lot's of forum traders on here that can offer you decent prices, sometimes with significant savings over buying elsewhere. Give Chris @Tarmac Sportz a PM to see what he can do for you is my advice.

You made a decision yet op? I really fancy a induction kits for mine but not sure what to get.

Only want it for the noise and to make the engine bay look a little different. Doubt I would notice any minimal loss in power.
