ioneabee Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 (edited) well - here goes nothing - Claim made today (just inside 3 yr warranty) - whats my chances bubbling is on all 4 wheels on the rays/arms (not the rims/dish) Front Right Rear Right Front Left Rear Left Edited December 8, 2014 by ioneabee Quote
Crb Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Nissan replaced all 4 on a navarra I owned a few years back 👠Quote
ioneabee Posted September 22, 2014 Author Posted September 22, 2014 cheers - the dealer has said, if its approved then they will replace not refurb Quote
Lexx Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Shouldn't have an issue with that. I had 3 sets replaced by Mazda with the same issue right up until the warranty expired. It's easier for a dealer to replace rather than refurb. They send the corroded ones back to HQ. Quote

AJRFulton Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 (edited) I also have the dark alloys, and they were bubbling too after just 8mths from new. However I kerbed a wheel, and due to the expected difficulty in getting a perfect colour match, I told the guy to do all 4 wheels.... The quality of his job is superior to Nissans IMO. 12mths on and the wheels are still completely blemish free still. The alloy refurb guy was pretty shocked at how poorly the wheels had been painted from the factory. Edited September 23, 2014 by AJRFulton Quote
ioneabee Posted September 23, 2014 Author Posted September 23, 2014 the dealer has just asked me for the mileage - is there a limiting amount ? I'm currently on around 32k Quote
Will370z Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 good to see you use your zed as much as me Andy Not sure if there is a mileage limit, would have to read the small print - good luck though. Wish i had gotten mine done while under warranty but they are not too bad Quote
cmck13 Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Ever so easy it will say on the warranty what is and isn't? Quote
ioneabee Posted September 23, 2014 Author Posted September 23, 2014 Ever so easy it will say on the warranty what is and isn't? yeah - but I'm too lazy to go and dig it out Quote
ioneabee Posted September 23, 2014 Author Posted September 23, 2014 good to see you use your zed as much as me Andy and still only on my 2nd set of tyres Quote

ioneabee Posted September 23, 2014 Author Posted September 23, 2014 I'll rephrase that to "too busy" and hoping that somebody just knew Quote
ioneabee Posted October 1, 2014 Author Posted October 1, 2014 ok - had to take the car to the dealers this morning for them to take the photo's as Nissan Warranty refused to accept the ones I had taken so - 100 mile round trip - thankyou Nissan the manager seemed to think that it was clear cut though Quote
ioneabee Posted October 20, 2014 Author Posted October 20, 2014 typically, had this back from the dealers "....due to the alloys being kerbed they wont look to support the claim under the warranty." clearly, I'm not going to accept that as the kerbing in no way influences the bubbling - the kerbing being on the outer rims and the bubbling occurs on the rays So, got the claim reference from the dealer - contacted Nissan direct and hey presto, Nissan can't find anything related to that number they've created a new case reference and will contact me in the next 24hours telephoned the dealer back and she just sighed and added my reference number to hers on her system any suggestions from those who have gone through a warranty claim on wheels before ? ioneabee Posted October 21, 2014 Author Posted October 21, 2014 Nissan rang today to confirm they were looking into it 1 Quote
370Ad Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 The guy who owned mine before me paid to have his refurbed after 18 months. Some people just dont kick up a fuss so Nissan get away with it. Quote
wizurd Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Good luck Andy. Nissan hate paying out for anything as i've discovered. Quote
ioneabee Posted October 23, 2014 Author Posted October 23, 2014 they rang back today - just as a courtesy call but there was a hint of if not full replacement then possibly a refurb - it was a casual statement that was made, nothing definate so where do i stand if they put that on the table ? Quote
370Ad Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 I would personally go for a refurb. If it's a powder coated then it will probably last longer than Nissan paint. Quote
ioneabee Posted November 19, 2014 Author Posted November 19, 2014 Good news Nissan have agreed to a full 4 wheel strip and powder coat refurbishment 4 Quote
