The XK8 is home

Not a lot to say really. Here it is. Only one modification planned - replace rear section of exhaust for Adamesh rear pipes. Will only cost £199 but it gives you more of the V8 sound without being obtrusive. Just need to get my wicker picnic basket now  My experience with Arun in Pulborough (an independent Jaguar specialist) has been very good so far.

Looks brand new, lovely. You will have to take me out for a spin when I pop over

Thanks Will - will do - it's quite a different ball game from the 350Z (I have only sat in a 370 at Goodwood - and it wasn't moving at the time - perhaps that could be corrected? ;) ). The ride quality of the Xk8 seems exceptional but the tyre pressures were quite a bit too low at the back and too high at the front - it will be interesting to see what it rides like now - I have gone for an OEM middle setting - they give a range from "comfort" to "normal". You only really hear the V8 if you put it in sport and floor it but the rear pipes should solve that.

Thanks for the comments everyone.

Ricey... I know what you mean about not clicking with a car ...that has happened to me several times with what would be described as "highly rated" cars, that I just didn't get any feel for. For some people the XK8 would also be too soft...and would take better to and XKR.

With this one, I think it helped that I had not really considered them at all - I would just go "oh yeah it's an XK8". Also with some of the trim combinations I felt that the inside can look old-fashioned. My co-car-sharing mate, however, has really liked them for years. So I went into it with no real expectations - but have now really taken to it. Partly it's because it's the right car for me at the right time. I don't think I had noticed how good looking they were until now.

I was just gazing longingly at this and browsing autotrader. Are the back seats useable?

For children (fine) or short adults if the front seats are well forward or the Krankies just as they are. They would certainly serve in an emergency.
