ioneabee Posted April 27, 2014 Author Share Posted April 27, 2014 (edited) ok - so here it is................a bit of an experiment really, so may have to be re-done (North Wales run will tell for sure) and you'll realise why in a mo so in (my version of) the zed shed - waiting to start as she look now wheel off can you work out what I'm going to do yet ? started the rub down - as its only HT paint, may have gone a bit overboard on this - may just do lighter version on the remainder also a neat little trick i found on youtube - silver foil protect the rest of the paintwork now I forgot to photo the primer - used 3 coats of 700 - 1000 deg C after degreasing and cleaning then onto the colour - I didn't want the standard red - with the colour of the car in the sun being purple(ish) I went for an anodised red - its still VHT but only to 230 deg C - this then being the experimental bit - my theory being that the primer and clear coat (upto 480 deg C) will protect the lower temp paint - this obviously could go completely pear shaped and I will have to strip it all off again...............we'll see time will tell.............but so far I like the look Edited April 27, 2014 by ioneabee Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
