WhackyWill Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 Police to get a £250k Supercar..WHY..??? http://metro.co.uk/2014/01/11/nowhere-to-run-police-unveil-new-plan-to-stop-crime-a-240k-supercar-that-can-do-0-60mph-in-three-seconds-4258519/ Quote
Kurtoski Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 I actually seen this today at the Autosport show in Birmingham. Nice to see that the country is that debt yet can still blow £250K on a supercar that will never get used nor needed to be used... Quote
Ekona Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 It's a loaner from McLaren, for the publicity. Like Lotus did a few years back. You didn't think they actually bought one, did you?! I like the way a £178k car becomes a £240k one in that article, though. 1 Quote
GMballistic Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 What a bl**dy stupid ridiculous idea. How can they even justify that?? ~ no room for fitting crooks in. ~ they could have had a much cheaper car that would have been more than capable of keeping up with what's on the roads today (eg; tuned new skyline GTR or similar) ~ what a waste of tax payers money/Police funds etc ....and I'd imagine it will be difficult to drive in poor conditions like snow & ice. Wayne370Z Posted January 11, 2014 Posted January 11, 2014 And to think when I joined I had a crappy Metro or Chevette to drive around in. Quote

ioneabee Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 they'll build it a ramp on the northern scottish coast - and when it reaches 200mph launch it across to iceland to catch the owners of illegal file sharing sites 1 Quote

wizurd Posted January 12, 2014 Posted January 12, 2014 (edited) I expect to see that car in a worse state in the near future unless they use it exclusively for just driving to events to promote the police. Can imagine the fuel and servicing costs will be interesting. And I thought a p3 on my zed was expensive! Lol Edited January 12, 2014 by wizurd Quote
