TomLum Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 Hey guys, so I bought my 350z recently with the Alezan interior. I loved the seats but really didnt like the 'tacky' colour coded trim! I paid a visit to a leather renovation specialist and they recommended me this product that they produce to change the colour. Here are my results.. Before.. After.. I think it has come out fantastic and it was really easy to do! My gear knob has seen better days but dyeing it has made it look 100% better than it was. It didnt take long at all and ive applied 3 coats, and still have half a bottle left! (15ml) The guy rekons its the best in the buisness and will last years before I will need to refresh it. Since doing it ive done just over 1000 miles and the finish is as good as when I applied it. If other members would be interested in this it cost me £28 for the bottle inc. a brush. He said if I buy in bulk I could get it alot cheaper so wouldnt mind passing this onto you guys on the forum Tom Quote
Ricey Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 Good finish........be interested to see how it wears over time. Quote
TomLum Posted September 25, 2013 Author Posted September 25, 2013 Good finish........be interested to see how it wears over time. The guy says he uses it to dye seats and sofas so its hard wearing. Something about it changing the colour pigment in the leather. The leather still feels soft and just like it did before. I'm not doing the seats seats as I like them over the black ones Quote
TomLum Posted September 26, 2013 Author Posted September 26, 2013 Looks 100% better like this I agree! I do like the colour of the seats tho the trim was just OTT Quote
KyleR Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 (edited) Yup, that's why I sold my charcoal leather and bought some Alezan to replace them, perfect contrast. Edited September 26, 2013 by KyleR Quote
jjt Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Looks good, if this can be done a bit cheaper id certainly be interested 1 Quote
TomLum Posted September 26, 2013 Author Posted September 26, 2013 For those of you that have PM'd me ive spoken to the guy and I can get the bottles at £10 off making them £18. So if people would like these im happy to pass them on for £20 delivered inc brush and instructions Quote
chirag1988 Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Hi guys, i've just bought my Z yesterday. waiting for it to be serviced, MOT'd and taxed and ready to pick up in a few days. I've noticed a few scuff marks on the seats and the steering wheel from wear and tear and was thinking of getting a bottle of alezan and a bottle of black to touch them up to make it look like new again. I've got the orange leather seats too and just wanted to make sure that Alezan is the only orange colour available for the leathers? Quote
R35LEE Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 I'm impressed with the results on the steering wheel Keep s updated with how it wears Quote

There were a couple of other colours available for the HR (frost and something else), but these are very rare and not orange! Quote

14N Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 That's a great result! Are other colour options available? And would it be possible to change to colour of the black/charcoal seats? Quote
mattross1313 Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 And would it be possible to change to colour of the black/charcoal seats? Be much easier to buy Keysers spare set right?...... 1 Quote
Flex Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Do we think black seat bolsters would look w@nk? 1 Quote
14N Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 Nah, 'easy' = 'boring'. Nothing rewarding was ever accomplishd by taking the easy route. I'm thinking with some careful masking, I could have tiger stripe seats 2 Quote

rabbitstew Posted December 11, 2013 Posted December 11, 2013 The later alezan zeds didnt have the orange bottom bit on the steering wheel so you could replace the whole wheel instead. Also before people rush off and dye their alezan gear knob`s, check out the cost of buying an alezan replacement one! They cost a fortune (as i know from personal experience), so it might be better just to flog off the alezan knob and buy a normal one, or an after market one. That black dye stuff does look great though, the results look pretty fantastic. Quote

I've just bought the nismo aftermarket gearknob but am considering getting the alezan product to match it to the trim lol Quote
Hammerz Posted December 13, 2013 Posted December 13, 2013 Hi, I've enquired at my local retrimmers about this product. If they don't come through are you able to supply still? Quote

INEEDABOUT350 Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Hi there, I'd love to do this to my car, don't suppose you have the name of the product do you please mate? Cheers, Leon Quote
Ricey Posted October 20, 2016 Posted October 20, 2016 Its a leather pigment mate. You can buy it from Buffalo Leather, Furniture Clinic etc. Needs a leather sealant going on after though. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk Quote
