DVLA finally got round to processing my cherished transfer, so put my new plates on

No u can't put new plates on an older car

Thats all you can do with personal plates.

You just cannot make a car look newer than it is - IE putting an 09 plate on an 03 car.

Yes mate, you can't put newer ones on though, but anything that is out there before the car was registrered. My plate is not meant to read anything or means anything to anyone, except me, it's my Mrs and my initials is all. Had it from new.

I wouldn't like putting the standard set up IE XX05 XXX on a new car but I very much doubt anyone would think it was a 2006

Have you considered the GTR starter button mod? I reckon it would look good with the red detailing on your car. I have one - they look great "in the flesh".

I put the order in then emailed them with that request, there was no option on the builder, unfortunately, they made the plates up and sent them, then read the email

Have you considered the GTR starter button mod? I reckon it would look good with the red detailing on your car. I have one - they look great "in the flesh".

 

Not so far, but could be tempted, I'll have a look at the thread re the fitting of these, might wait till the first service and get the garage to fit one, agree they look pretty cool.

Same style plates as mine in terms of 3D carbon effect. Also got mine from Demon Plates. Totally legal and look superb. Makes a big difference for low cost.

You really don't need anyone to fit it mate. It's incredibly easy to do yourself.

Had them on my RX8 and were a great addition, I hate the "put the stick in the hole" that's on the 370.

 

I then might look at a GTR button then.

You should do a proper BUILD THREAD when you fit that GT-R button, it's an extremely complex job, trust me! :lol:

That's exactly how I did it. The button housing comes out very easily. You just need to take your time when unplugging the wires to ensure you don't damage em. The GTR button doesn't illuminate but I think it looks better - more purposeful than the bog standard one.
