Pixellated
Hey folks. I pick up my 350Z today, and am ABSURDLY excited. After a pretty poor car history, this is by far the best car I've owned... 1990 Ford Escort 1.3 1999 Renault Clio 1.2 2000 Fiat Punto 1.9 JTD 2004 Honda Civic 1.6 Sport 2008 Seat Altea 2.0 TDI FR I went for a 2006 facelift GT with Nismo body kit (although one of the first things I'll do is get rid of that bloody spoiler and add a more subtle lip) in black. Completely stock, low mileage, and beautiful . I'm going to use her as an opportunity to get my hands a bit dirty and get some maintenance and installation experience, since until now all I've done is checked the oil and water in all of the cars I've owned, preferring to send them to stealers to get stuff sorted out. That's going to end, with any luck. I've already got a shopping list as long as my arm of bits I want to buy for my little baby - this forum is going to bankrupt me, I swear. Anyway - I had a quick question for you guys. My car is only coming with one key, which worries me a little. Am I being just paranoid in wanting to get a new one cut, and to reprogram the code at the same time in-case there's another key out in the wild somewhere? If you guys have had to replace keys, can you recommend anywhere from personal experience? I'm in the South Wales area during the week and Gloucestershire on the weekends. I've enjoyed lurking here for the last few weeks while researching, so thanks a bunch for the awesome forum. Pixel

JetSet
Welcome along. If you're very lucky you might find another key hidden away somewhere in one of the cubby holes. Pete
BillyZed
mine only has one key but it never bothered me, depends how far away you live from the previous owner haha
Pixellated
Thanks guys. One hour to go... I don't think I've been this excited, well, ever really. Don't tell my wife or daughter that, though

coldel
Enjoy. I was like you a mechanical incompetent but after a year of Zedding had put in a plenum spacer and added side and front lip skirts all on my own Its a great car for working on, easy access to the engine, very nicely laid out in the engine bay.

14N
Congrats and your new purchase which (looking at my watch) you should be slipping into (ooer) right about NOW! : Not only is it a great car to work on/with, the support from everyone on here is second to none. Enjoy!
Vik54
It should come with two keys and a service key - I hope you used this as a bartering point! Regardless - enjoy your new arrival
Wayne370Z
Suppose the second key only becomes an issue when you lose the first one !

Pixellated
Trying to remain objective for a minute... there are definitely some downsides to go with the plus sides. For instance, my productivity at work today has taken a nosedive because I can see her out of the window.
14N
My productivity plummeted when I realised I could still get on the forum at work

Pixellated
love at first drive then? It's quite funny, really. When I took it for a test drive, I drove progressively and properly tested it out so to speak. Now I own it, though, you should have seen how gently I treated it (and how slowly I drove) on the way back to work! Will give it a good run out this evening. Pixellated
Had a lovely 1hr drive home where I managed to give her a proper workout, and I'm happy as Larry right now. Quick, responsive, and oh my gosh the V6 sound.... Best purchasing decision ever. Couple of quick notes, mainly for my own benefit as it'll motivate me to actually do something... The rear Nismo spoiler is a bit too flash for my tastes, and severely restricts the view. I need to replace it with a tasteful lip, I think. The car came with a 3rd-party Bluetooth unit (Novero TheTrulyOne) which I need to take out and sell (will pop it in the For Sale forum - it's a pretty good unit but I don't need it). The Bose system, while not brilliant, is actually better than I was expecting. Happy days; that'll push back the priority on my ICE install. I need to fit my Pioneer X3500-DAB HU and order a Brodit clip. Need to buy (for starters, in the short term): air filter, oil and rad caps, stubby aerial, gear knob. Edit: And sort out a spare key! gsexr
Sort a spare key before you need it then you probably never will. Yer know it makes sense.

If you get rid of the Nismo, give me a shout as I would be interested in purchasing it.
