+1 for HKS, but I doubt there is much difference between HKS, Cosworth, K&N, Apexi etc. etc.

To answer your question:

 

Cosworth or HKS are the best bang for your buck.

 

Both in stock and good to go same next day.

Apexi offer the best filtration and performance. Other filters offer gains but sacrifice filtration to get them. All good filters. Apexi are hard to get hold of. Any of the above would surfice.

Which ever filter you go for (and all of the above are better than stock) an Airbox mod if you have a pre 2006 will get it working better.

I thought k&n typhoon was good, changed engine tone slightly and felt smoother. But that might just be a placebo since I spent alot on a metal pipe..

Proper aftermarket drop in Performance Panel Filters like Cosworth, HKS, Apexi etc increase filtration and air intake and flow, which can be no bad thing.
