Stop the video playing!

Any way of stopping the video playing every time the homepage comes up? It really is quite irritating, especially as the 'mark forums read' link takes you back there automatically rather than straight to the forum list like every single other forum in the history of the world.

 

Yes, it's another minor whinge in the grand scheme of things, but it's a valid point I think. Same reason that people hate websites that auto play background music or instructional videos the second the page loads up.

totally agree, drives me nuts every time I log on, can we at least make it play without the sound unless you want it to?

Mind you, I bookmarked the Forum page rather than the homepage, so that might be the reason for me.

Also on my iOS devices you have to press play for them to play anyway

Doesn't do it on iOS devices, it's only on proper computers for some reason.

 

Making it play on mute is a good idea.

I might have scared myself earlier, logging in whilst un be-known to me the volume was up surprisingly loud

A mute by default setting might be an idea
