smudgedon Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 Found a couple of sets of purple wheel nuts, just wondering what the forum's thoughts are? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/140911217345?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2648 or http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/170989292555?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2648 ???? Gudzy Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 The ones from the US look very much like my D1 aluminium wheel nuts that are in gold. Lighter than stock but the colour has faded a bit. Quote
smudgedon Posted February 24, 2013 Author Posted February 24, 2013 How long you had them for Gudzy? Quote
Shaun1982 Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 Cool enough for me. But the main question is, are they the right purple? Lol Quote
smudgedon Posted February 24, 2013 Author Posted February 24, 2013 Cool enough for me. But the main question is, are they the right purple? Lol I knew it wouldn't be long Git Don't even know if i want purple wheel nuts, as the wheels themselves will be purple Quote
ATTAK Z Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 It's one of those subtle mods that only the initiated will appreciate Quote
Shaun1982 Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 I think I'm starting to want some of those Neo chrome nuts but everything's dark on my car so maybe it would look daft. If you're having purple shoes then how about shiny nuts? Have you got other shiny bits? Quote
Wasso Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 The first set will fall apart as they're just aluminium. The second ones are T6 and hold a strength of 300 MPa where as the duraluminum nuts I have are twice the strength. Would I get either of those you listed, No. Don't scrimp on what holds your wheels onto the hubs, you'll only regret it. You'll need to spend in excess of £100 for decent nuts. 1 Quote

Wasso Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 No problem matey, I wouldn't want your pink, I mean purple wheels falling off. Quote
Ian Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 I had purple Muteki nuts on the Skyline. I think Tarmac sells these nuts Quote
smudgedon Posted February 24, 2013 Author Posted February 24, 2013 Ian's are being helpful today thanks Quote
The Chubby Ninja Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 smudge i think if youre going for purple wheels that black wheel nuts would look good Quote
The Bounty Bar Kid Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 +1 on Muteki. Bought a red set off him if you wanna look at the quality in your hand. Not putting them on until my rays go back on in the summer. Quote
smudgedon Posted February 24, 2013 Author Posted February 24, 2013 smudge i think if youre going for purple wheels that black wheel nuts would look good Might get the same colour as the new brake calipers....but I'm not saying anything more than that Quote
Arran Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 What make nuts do you have wasso? Not many around that are 100+ I want gold ones but ideally locking ones which D1 don't do in looking just normal which makes we think little scrotes will just nick them Quote
AliveBoy Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 I'd be careful of the D1 ones. Not from my car, but someone I know took this pic: Quote

I got mine from Chilli Red in her sale, RRP I think was £95. A lot of the nuts on my350 seem to sell second hand in the £100 mark. Quote
Arran Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 Seeing all the pictures and reviews on the warping etc really makes me question wether these nuts are actually worth buying regardless of the brand! Quote

I've had mine on for about two years now. They've been on track, motorway, and about 30k miles. No problems. Quote

4RE Leather Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 2 things never I would never do when buying lugs. Purchase ones from ebay at £10 Or but any from the outlet at Conlbrook who are notorious for importing forgery's from Hong Kong. I see he is now operating out of Reading as well. The 6 month ban from ebay obviously wasn't enough! Quote

Would of thought you would go for d2s because of the purple, then again is it not too light a purple? Quote
