Whazza22 Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 Just bought the following alloy wheels in mint condition! Axe AP41 Rears (9J) - 265/30/19 Fronts (8J) - 235/35/19 Stud pattern - 114.3 x 5 Offset - 35ET All fitted with Kuhmo K104 tyres and only covered 100 miles!! Also invoice showing almost £1500. I have a pair of 30mm spacers so will just need another set (would 30mm be the right size?) I paid......................£400 including tyres!!!! The tyres are worth that alone Spokes maybe a bit too big but for that price, cant go wrong! If they look rubbish or dont fit welll then I will sell them for more $$$ Quote
Neilp Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 Really dont think they'll suit the zed at all. I'm not so sure that they were a bargain tbh mate. Look very heavy and will probs ruin the feel of the car. You will also have severe traction control problems with those sizes. Dont mean to pee on ur day. Personally I don't like them and think you will struggle to sell them on for more, especially on here. Personally I'd have went for a set of rays oem wheels Quote
MITZ@CougarStore Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 What do they weigh, what make are they... Quote
4RE Leather Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 Fill ya boots mate they look fantastic:) Quote

Whazza22 Posted November 17, 2012 Author Posted November 17, 2012 (edited) I'm not so sure that they were a bargain tbh mate £400 with new tyres is not a bargain??? What do they weigh, what make are they... Not sure on the weight tbh, will weigh them when they arrive. They are manufactured by Axe - just under £1000 new (without tyres) Personally I don't like them and think you will struggle to sell them on for more, especially on here. Personally I'd have went for a set of rays oem wheels Was looking at a set of 18" rays but they are not much cheaper with well used tyres, plus 18" stilll look too small! Will see what they look like when they arrive, cant be worse than a set of standard 17" wheels. Plus they different! Edited November 17, 2012 by Whazza22 Quote

Neilp Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 I'm not so sure that they were a bargain tbh mate £400 with new tyres is not a bargain??? Nope as the tyres are the wrong sizes and will need changed no doubt What do they weigh, what make are they... Not sure on the weight tbh, will weigh them when they arrive. Yeah but the 18" rays are proper lightweight forged alloys and wont destroy the handling and feel of the car. Unsprung weight is a major issue in a car and heavy wheels are the main contributor. Will see what they look like when they arrive, cant be worse than a set of standard 17" wheels. Plus they different! Fair play to you buying and I hope it goes well. I just think that you may find that they arent as much of a bargain as you first thought. Quote
Sam Mcgoo Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 Personally I'd have went for a set of rays oem wheels Yawn. Quote
Wasso Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 Hurl. Bad dinner? Personally don't like them and tyres are, well, not exactly the best. End of the day if you like them that's what counts. Quote
Neilp Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 Personally I'd have went for a set of rays oem wheels Yawn. really? Do you not think for 400 quid rays would have been the better choice aesthetically and mechanically? Quote

Nope had an awesome curry. I'm just struggling to see what makes these a bargain? The nearly new tyres are fantastic. But completely the wrong size. The TC light is going to be flickering like christmas tree lights. Not much of a bargain when you have to buy a new set of 19 inch tyres in the correct sizes. They don't look nice (imo) and probably weigh a tonne. 2 Quote

Sarnie Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 (edited) Harsh is subjective. What is objective is that the tyres will need replacing with the correct sized tyres. Not so much of a bargain then. Thats all. The fact that they offend my retina's is by the by Edited November 17, 2012 by Sarnie 1 Quote

But the aesthetics is just a matter opinion and if he likes these then good for him for being different. However, as you have said, the tyre sizes might cause some problems though. Quote

Dblock Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 If you like them then good for you. I think they are cheap too personally. Worst case you can take off the tyres and sell them so you will probably make your money back anyway if you dont like them. Good for not being a forum sheep. Quote
