buster Posted October 19, 2012 Share Posted October 19, 2012 (edited) Not to everyones taste but its fun and another mod This mod was inspired by wasso car after a recent visit to the zed........i had to do it . So i ordered a kit from ebay.Couple of days later Keyser and myself undertook the work with the intention of making it work a little better. We followed the instructions for the wiring and with in about 20mins had it working. The kit switch is illuminated and the fear of it being on all the time in the cabin , ie being to bright,was the point we needed to sort .After a couple of mins Keyser was taking the centre consul apart. The plan of earthing the relay unit to the handbrake switch was pure genius....and of course it works. We also opted to cut the o/e starter wire in favour of making the key obsolete for starting the zed,thus only wiring to the start side of the wiring and not to the barrel. a couple of pics of the finish job... the push button starter kit i used zed ign on and running hand brake released.....this also stops the starter being ingaged by mistake once started. big thanks as always to Keyser for the help and Wasso for the inspiration. GT4 Zed Posted March 12, 2013 Share Posted March 12, 2013 Nice one lads. I fitted this many moons ago and also Wasso's but couldn't be asked to earth to the handbrake to switch the light off. Probably would want to do the handbrake bit for the reasons posted before I haven't bought a switch yet, so there's no hurry @Mrs Buster, define sane....
