I'm currently insured with Admiral and it's renewal time, I understand that Elephant are part of Admiral is this correct? Their quote is considerably less than the Admiral renewal figure  anyone had good or bad experiences with Elephant?

I'm going to call Sky, Adrian Flux and Chris Knott, are there any other forum friendly insurers who I've missed? Thanks :)

Exactly the same company, if you can't or don't want to swap sides of the same office then Elephant will price match the Admiral quote for you.

They're a bit limited as to what mods they will allow before premiums start getting silly, and their claims procedure is fair to middling, but they're so cheap right now I can put up with a certain amount of crap! I'm with Admiral, the other half was with Elephant but has now switched to Admiral too.

As Dan says, same company - just check the registered address for them ;)

Get Admiral to price match Elephant, I've done it in the past. Keeps the same policy number that way which makes things easier to manage if the worst happens and you need to claim.

I'm with Elephant and they're consistently the cheapest (306 rallye/ lotus exige/ bmw 330/ 350z).

Excellent customer service and great with any claims.

They are the same conpany as admiral but they often come out cheaper for some mad computer-based reason!

Ok-ish with mods as long as it's not more than 3 (if I remember correctly) although check as this may have changed.

UPDATE.

Thanks for the input guys, rang Admiral today and they've honoured the Elephant quote, charged me a small amount extra for the new wheels but I'm really pleased. Going to phone Sky and Flux tomorrow just to make sure, Chris Knott were really helpful but couldn't get near the Elephant quote.

And as a point of interest AA Insurance quoted me £349.00 but that was with an £850 excess!!

Mr G, just make sure you get the insurance you require, like 3rd part insurance if driving another vehicle or European cover if needed. I swapped out my insurance because of those reasons, you can pay a premium and not have those benefits if required.

I'm paying £1k a year in crime riddled Birmingham with ALL mods including NOS and remap with the 3rd party and European cover.

Aye - same shite different desk.

Cheap as chips though - we've just got our renewal quotes through from Admiral.

Z4 - £750 (4 years no claims)

350z - £750 (6 years no claims - 2 mods delclared)

Fiesta - £350 (5 years no claims)

Total £1850ish

Admiral have failed to add a non-fault claim on to the quote and refuse to move my 5 years no claims from the Fiesta onto the Z4 (spk to them when I bought the Z4 last year and without them saying the words it was clear that they just knew that speaking to customer services in mumbia would result in them wanting to commit hari kari)

Insurancesupermarket has returned the following quotes WITH an non-fault addcident and 4 modifications to the Zed (basically all of the mods including spacers which they have classed as 'non-standard alloy wheels' just in case anyone was wondering).

Z4 - £550

350Z - £650

Fiesta - £250

......and who did these quotes come from??? Admi-****. I'm beginning to despise several things about the modern world but more than ANYTHING I hate HATE HATE HATE insurance companies and their legalised racketeering.

I'm going to cancel the policy and move to Elephant for 2 cars and Bell for the other (as they are only 5 quid dearer) - for no better reason than I want them to have to issue all of the paper work several times.

I had a very similar experience with Bell who are also part of Admiral ..

My renewal quote from Bell was £500 more than the quote I got from Admiral

I called up Bell and they couldn't work it out either so they just told me to take up the new policy with Admiral .... LoL

had to renew my insurance tonight and have had Admiral multi car for a couple of years now after just getting over Christmas I've had to pay just under £4000 for three cars  My zed and the wifes BMW 325 was a respectable price but my 18 year old daughter with a Suzuki Swift was £2940.00 I got quotes from other companys of over £4500 just for the Suzuki along. ( me thinks it's time to move out of London)

Here's a little update:-

Having done the rounds I have to recommend Livingstone Warman:-

viewtopic.php?f=172&t=53188&hilit=Mustdriveslower&start=45

I spoke to Jason this morning, he had Michelle ring me straight back and she came back to me with 2 quotes, one for 7.5k miles per year and one for unlimited. With all mods, a gnats c*ck cheaper than Elephant. So on the basis of how helpful they were and that they specialise in this sort of risk I am inclined to favour them with my business, oh, and the excess was £150.00 less too :D:#1:

Nice to deal directly with a professional broker and not a call centre "drone"

Thank you Glrnet. We do aim to please but can't every time of course. Do appreciate that many of you are understanding the difference between the "cheap" call center giant and us small boy Brokers who are specialists.

Thank you again for bothering to post good things about us.

One thing I would like to promote is for the limited mileage polciies (under 7500 miles per year) is that we do offer an agreed value option which is very useful indeed, especially if you have modified your Z or it is a low mileage pampered pet.

Most insurers will offer what the "book" says or lower if they can get away with it. AV means the value is agreed prior to the event. You do have to jump through some hoops and we don't always agree the value you put on the car but mostly we come to a sensible valuation.

We do aim to help and support the cherished specialist Clubs. At the moment this AV option only costs another £25 - a bargain!

Happy to chat to anyone on their car's value prior to going on cover too, so no arguments later!
