Nurrish Sat Nav

Recommended Posts

I am an owner for of a 350Z 2004 model with a sat nav Xanavi 5.1

As everybody knows there is no update for this type of navigation.

Browsing the internet I noticed this forum and the product that Nurrish is offering.

Apparently he is making a world trip and will be back sometime July/August next year.

You can guess my question, does somebody have a Nurrish system that he wants to sell. I am looking for the latest Nurrish system.

Any comments are welcome or perhaps alternatives.

Thanks for your attention.

Kind regards,

Peter

Build your own it's not that difficult.

You already have the right cubby, just rip out the oem nav, decide which 7" screen system you want, wire up any buttons you need, hardwire it in and your done

I managed it and i'm a complete fool

For a nurrish nav search ebay for 7" satnav or 7" tablet, they are about £60 but a bit pants. I went for a navman panoramic, £150 and just a nav but its pretty good

A member is selling one here http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=54813 but there is also the "alternative" Cookbot nav....http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=49801 which has more features and is slightly more "logical" in the way some things work.

Oh and :welcome:

+1 on this,

personally i think the nurrish nav is a PoS but many seem to like it, the cookbot setup is far more solidly built and less likely to give you any issues.

Not really a viable option for satnav though... it uses your 3g connection via a dongle so if you dont have unlimited data or get stuck somewhere with a poor signal your a bit stuffed :surrender: thats why i did my own :teeth:

Cookbots is a nice set up but i just wanted a nav

Ive loaded the maps onto my cookbot, so I dont need a data connection. :)

You only need a data connection if you intend to stream maps.

If you found a gps dongle that doesn't use your phone then well done, i couldn't.... Its a great gizmo but all the tasty things use your data allowance unfortunately... Its an android tablet after all

I suggest the op reads up on all the positives and negatives, information is power and all that

Eh? The GPS is built into the system, just like a phone.

If you have the maps loaded onto your SD card, then it works just like a normal sat nav.

If you want to use google maps, email, internet tv, or any other form of streaming then yes, data will be used - but thats the same with anything.

For Sat Nav, I have both MobileMaps and Copilot, both with maps installed on the SD card - No data connection needed.

Ok not what i read, i looked for an android tablet with gps built in and couldn't find one, they needed to be tethered to a phone or have their own sim which would have meant £10 a month....

The cookienav is probably a much better option if you still have the bose to as you can control your ipod or mp3s from it

Are you confusing GPS and data? The GPS allows it to find its location, then you either need a data connection (GPRS/3G) or the maps loaded onto a local SD card to place that position on a map.

To make it worthwhile i decided i wanted googlemaps which required both, or a much cheaper option that just had standard satnav software. If I could have fitted a removable tablet that i could use indoors too then it would have been worth the extra £££

As Chesterfield said, if maps loaded on no need for a data connection. I also have a Cookbot system fitted, satnav works very well. Plus you can add to the system what you want at any time via download.

Dear Forum,

I have done some research and Nurrish is out and Cookie stopped building these things.

Know I am looking at a Viewsonic 7" tablet with GPS that I want to use and build in my cubby.

However I am not sure if this will fit and or that the buttons on the right side will disapear behind the frame of the cubby.

Should not be a problem if all features can be accessed by the touch screen.

Does anybody has experience with the Viewsonic, Is the FM frequence to get the music to my Pioneer, but perhaps this can go through the stereo plug.

Any other suggestions what I can use are welcome.

Thank you in advance.

Peter

If the screen is a 7" one you wont have access to the button... you will also need to take off the outer casing to get it to fit nice and snug

What Pioneer do you have, you should have an aux in hopefully
