All,

after many hours searching the net, and some concern of how I am going to wrap my roof without damaging something, I finally coudln't wait any longer! So i ordred some wrap from RTCustoms and off I went! (HEXIS)

I thought it might be a good idea to provide everyone with a decent guide as to how you remove both A and B pillars and then wrap the roof! It is definately a 2 man job, so enlist the help of a friend, in my case I grabbed my pops!

Stat to remove the B pillar (I think it is? well this one! haha). be careful when doing this as it is held on by 3 connecting poppers.. see pic 3. we used a trowel as its quite strong and can easily get behind the pillar.

As you can see, 3 connections .... just pop them out, but be careful not to break! ALSO, you can see the screw which is holding the a pillar(i think?!) to the car, unscrew this one.

this is where people normally snap the pillar without knowing it. Open the door and slightly pull back the door seal, it will reveal 8 screws, unscrew these before attempting to remove pillar!

This is just to show you where the screws are located, look at pic 6 before trying to remove pillar!

Be careful when removing this! we started from right to left, starting of by popping one out by hand, then using a scrwdriver to pop out the others. i Think there were about 6?

This is where the poppers are located... When we did it, we didn't take them off, we just kept them loose so not to disturb the window seal too much!

Now we are ready to wrap the roof now both sides have been undone. Place the wrap over the roof and start to wrap!!

pull the paper off the bottom of the vinyl as you go.... We focused on the middle of the roof working backwards, leaving a 4" gap along both sides. As you can see in the pictures below, we did use a hairdryer every now an then. Especially because of the shape of the roof, the further back you get the more difficult it is. Just be patient, keep lifting and rubbing to get out the bubbles and creases. We just used the side of our thumbs for this! (deal with the pain!!) haha... heres some pics as we went..

Now we are ready to do the sides. as yuou can see in this pic, we used a sponge to keep the pillar away from the side of the roof so we could tuck it under..

Once the roof was done we trimmed off the excess starting at the back using a scalpal. make sure to tuck in the gap between the roof and boot lid to hide the ends.

It should look something like this!!

now for the front, we cut the vinyl along the part of the windscreen seal where it is a slight recess... and then just slightly lifted the seal and put the vinyl under... easy to do and its a great finish!

Now just put the parts back together, first reclip in the pillars above the door, then screw the 8 screws in under the window seal, then the final screw and re attach the side b pillar (think its the B)

See pics below of the outcome!!

@maccaman ..... took about 4 hours start to finish, just make sure you don't try to rush it or get annoyed or it will end up on the floor! haha.

I did the b pillars and interior passenger grab handle.

I tried to do the wing mirrors but that went hideously wrong, the vinyl just wasn't very sticky

Going to attempt the roof next, I like flat surfaces. :)

haha fair enough!

take your time with the roof! and give it a good clean before you do it. :band:
