George Dredd Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Hi peeps, my seatbelt buckle is the wrong way round, so when I buckle up the belt is twisted and it really annoys me. I have tried folding the belt and forcing it through but it won't go through, does anybody know how to do it? After all it got there somehow so it must be able to go back Quote
ATTAK Z Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Take your time .... it'll go through with a bit of patience Quote
CMR Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 plenty of vaseline and a rubber glove! We still talking about seatbelts? Quote
clarkie34 Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 plenty of vaseline and a rubber glove! And for the seatbelt? Quote
leonk Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Roll just the edge of the belt over first then gradually feed the rest through. So roll it inside the seatbelt bit. Don't fold it and then try to force the seatbelt bit over it. Patience and it will go. Hope that makes sense! Ignore the Vaseline suggestions, you'll get arrested. Quote
Stew Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 plenty of vaseline and a rubber glove! Lie on your arm for 10 mins....... Quote
leonk Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 How did a simple request for help with a restraining device descend into this?????? Note. I did post a sensible reply previously. Quote

George Dredd Posted April 25, 2011 Author Posted April 25, 2011 Ok guys I put on a rubber glove, covered the seatbelt in vasaline, hit it with a sledgehammer, then layed on my arm for over ten mins and its still not fixed I must have gone wrong, I did do it in the correct order, didn't I? Quote
DoogyRev Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 plenty of vaseline and a rubber glove! Lie on your arm for 10 mins....... Isn't that called " A Stranger" Quote
Ian Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 I thought it was normal. Mines been like it for 4.5 years Quote
geoff-r Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 I thought it was normal. Mines been like it for 4.5 years Same here, was like that on my 350 and it's the same on my 370! Quote
Chris`I Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 Think we need pics, what are peoples definition of being twisted? Mine sits flat against me (belly and chest), but that doesnt mean that the belt doesnt have a twist to it Quote
robin c Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 I had this happen loads on my 54 plate zed. Its a pain hey! I found it was normally down the the seatbelt guide on where it fixed to the A frame. I managed to unravel by fiddling around with the hanger. Quote
Ian Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Took some pics of it You can see the buckle is facing the wrong way so when you belt up it goes like this And it twists at the top Quote
Chris`I Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Hmm, must say I dont remember mine being twisted like that. I'll check the '70 when I go out this afternoon too. EDIT: No twist here or here Quote
Ian Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Theres no way you can adjust it by just folding it over & feeding it through without breaking something Quote
Chris`I Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 Its quite easy to take the seatbelt off the b-pillar if that would help untwist it? Not sure it will though. I never did anything to my 350z to untwist it that I remember, it was always like that. Quote
geoff-r Posted April 28, 2011 Posted April 28, 2011 I reckon it's one guy on the Nissan factory floor having a laugh. Mine looks like Ian's on my 370, yet Chris' 370 looks fine! I will take pics... Quote
