Ricey
I was driving behind on old Escort the other day which got me all misty eye'd for the days of a less complicated time when the height of fashion was having an unpainted rubber bodykit and spoiler strapped to your car. Retro seems to be the 'in thing' at the moment in film - True Grit, Tron, Batman etc. We've also seen the odd reboot with cars - Scirocco, Lancia reappearing. So which car would you revive and why? Based on the premise that said car would be remade in a new funky, quality Scirocco kind of way. Doesn't have to be a sports car just something that might make you smile if you saw it have a new lease of life For me - Vauxhall Chevette - I had a 20 year old one when I was 17 and it ruled! Special edition Silhouette which meant jet black with a giant red racing stripe, orange shagpile carpet and orange velour seats and door cards. Or the Opel Manta - always thought it looked like it belonged in mad max with a giant Weiand Supercharger poking out of the bonnet!

Ricey
Ford Capri? Pete Only narrowly beaten in my vote by the Manta! The Capri is the pinnacle of retro
Stew
I like the 'everyman' stuff like the Capri, Manta etc. Lotus Cortina or Lotus Sunbeam would be awesome. There are loads of cars I'd like revived. Proper small 4 seater practical RWDs like the Mk 1/2 Escort What about a modern SD1?
AK350Z
Alfa SZ 240Z? I suppose thats already happened!

cmck13
This was my first car, most of you were a twinkle in your dads guiness bottle 1957 standard ten bought in 1969 for £30, built like a tank found that out one day when I had a misfortune to kiss the rear of a Triumh Herald, the standard was hardly marked, the herald was a write off. Unfortunately the photo is off a site as I didnt keep any in those days. The box brownie wasn't up to it.
Stew
What about a PROPER hothatch from Pug again?

Wasso
Manta for me also, owning two - one Black GTE and one Blue Exclusive. Those were the days.... Examples Sadly both got written off...... (probably something to do with the handling)
Stew
Jaynes (My other half) GRANDMOTHER had a Manta GTE!!!!!! I like them. Local car dealer has a Chevette HSR statched around the back.
Ricey
Local car dealer has a Chevette HSR statched around the back. I nearly ended up hallucinating from watching too much Wheeler Dealers on Disco channel but I had a look for HSR vetts last night - auction guide estimate 75-90k
Wasso
You can see the resemblance between the Z and the Manta..... If Opel resurrected the Manta just like the Sirocco I'm sure it'd be a hit. Another great car I always wanted to own and modify
marzman
MkII Escort for me... never driven one but they look perfect. My cousin had an immaculate one just like below, but he sadly died when he was 24 back in 1994, and as far as i know it's still in his dad's garage and hasnt been touched since. I know they had the 968 but it wasn't the same The scirocco shoulda been a proper revival but I think it's a let down Agreed on manta and Capri tho!
