Super mod weekend - it begins!!!

Recently decided to invest some bucks in the Z. Basically love the car but thought original wheels looked tripe, the exhaust is naff, the front grille is awful, it can go faster and er.......if I make it go faster I'll need better brakes.

So.

A week or so ago had these puppies fitted:

18" Rota Torque Drift ET12

Falken 452 275/40 245/45

and today this beauty arrived:

Can you guess what it is yet??

Having this fitted as soon as I can find a garage and will post more pics later.

Tomorrow am meeting up with Nurrish and GT4Zed for some other little bits and bobs so tune back in for updates. ;);)

PS - Mods. This thread will be modifications to Exhaust, Wheels, Performance and Exterior so I have left it in General if that's OK with you?

Minor disaster....... :scare:

Opie Oils haven't sent my Motul 660 brake fluid and I need it for tomorrow.

I'm having Nurrish's old set up (Front and rear Brembo Calipers, DBA 5000 discs on the front, DBA 4000 discs on the rear, Ferodo DS-2500 Brake Pads all round, Hel Carbon Brakes Lines) and he has recommended the 660. Looks like I won't be able to get any before tomorrow as it's not exactly an "off the shelf" item.

Any suggestions???

Any dot 5.1 brake fluid from halfords should do for the time being.

Even for a track day at Castle Combe on 28th?? :headhurt:

I know the brakes will work with 5:1 but it just seems a waste to put 5:1 in tomorrow and then pay a garage to replace it with £60 worth of Motul 660 in 10 days which I'll probably have to pay them £50 to do. If I can put something good in tomorrow it would be better.

Dot 5.1 is Dot 5.1, it will do the same job, just depends how desperate you are to have it on the track.

But Motul 660 is Dot 4 and designed for track use and costs £50 for 1.5L whreas Halfords 5:1 is £10??? Why do people use Motul 660 if it's "the same".

Its not "the same" but halfords being 5.1 will have a dry boiling point of at least 500degF odd so for the application you are using it for (ie the odd track day) it will be perfectly fine.

Also Motul 660 although its designated dot4 it actually exceeds 5.1 specs.

There are more places to buy brake fluid from than halfrauds

We have a few specialist car places up our way that would have dot 4 in stock, must be somewhere that can get you some?

Gone 5:1 because I was at work today and had no time to phaff(?!?!) around. The 5:1 I got has a higher boiling point than the Dot 4 so I'll use that. If the brakes go when I'm doing 160 round the Ring next month, I'll know I've made an error. :drive1:scare::lol::drive1:scare::lol:

Blueflame all fitted and sounds :cloud9::cloud9:

Will post video and pics tomorrow after the Super Mod Day at Nurrish's.

Try PMing ZMANALEX. He might have some in stock and be able to send it to arrive by tomorrow (send it to Nurrish's place maybe)?

Why didn't I think of that. :blush::wacko::wacko:

Now you know why I'm an estate agent and can't do a proper job. :bangin::bangin:
