VQ35DE oil grade?

Hi all, 

 

I was just wondering what grade of engine oil people are using in DEs? Mines due a change after a drift day at Santa Pod on Wednesday.

I've pretty much swapped brand of oil every oil change since ownership, had Motul, Castrol, Shell, Fuchs 5w30 or 5w40 to which the car felt best on Castrol 5w30 C3 stop start.

just received this oil from Opie - will be getting it changed this weekend.

I find 5w30 burns off too quickly and ends up running a bit, well... "Low pressurey". I used 10w-40. But I send it a fair amount.

4.9 lts. including filter if OEM sump fitted with no spacer.

I used MLR 10w50 when I was using the V6. No oil cooler, never had any problems.

 

Standard grade oil I was getting low oil pressures when it was hot (I hot lapped if the opportunity was there), on the off chance I tried the thicker oil before putting a cooler on and it was fine so kept running it.

my de twin turbo aso im using 5/40 motul 8100 power synthetic ester. hdev recommend it turbo z's
