hi folks,

Can someone convert 190 bhp at the wheels to crank power? this was at 5000 rpm from what i can tell..

dont know if you need more info?

I worked it at 227 bhp at the crank using a convert on google not sure how accurate that is though.

Thanks Matt

seems low following a rebuild would have expected closer to the factory 280 bhp  least of their worries at the moment though just wanted to confirm my thoughts

Could have a sticking brake caliper causing the low whp figure. With the car on a very slight incline, foot and hand brake off will the car roll freely?

Abbey uses a hub dyno? so a set figure would be 'added' to estimate the flywheel power not taken away. bhp is always worked out from whp, not the other way round from my understanding.

I thought there was about a 17% loss in the drive train. So 220ish... which doesn't seem too far out. Doesn't sound particularly good though (Although the might has a particularly pessimistic dyno).

Hope you get it sorted!

I expect the engine will require rebuilding... again....  but just wanted to get my head around the figures they gave me last week

thanks for the info guys

People are missing the fact that this was at 5k revs. My 350 made an extra 50bhp at 6.5k revs compared to 5k so without seeing a graph its hard to comment.

Makes sense, good point didn't read through it enough.

I agree with the above, mine made around 230 at the fly at 5krpm and peaked at 6.5krpm with about 270 so you are probably bob on with your figures
