AdrianL Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 Hi, So my clutch has started to slip, but it's a good opportunity to upgrade it. I've heard it's also worth doing the flywheel at the same time. I'm looking for a nice balance - I want the car to be comfortable on the road, but I do use it for some occasional track use too, so I'd like something that is good for both. A single mass, light flywheel seems appealing but if it's quite noisy this will be offputting. What clutch / flywheel combination is recommended? Thanks in advance, Adrian Quote

It only rattles a little at low revs and other than that is good quality and does the job very well It depends how much track you do I suppose but something for the track may not be ideal for gentler road use, which means it might be a bit rougher in 'normal' use? 1 Quote

The dual mass flywheel is designed to dampen the extra noise so removing that is why you do get an increase. The Xtreme kits flywheel is optimised for weight to try and minimise this noise. mr v6 Posted April 12, 2017 Posted April 12, 2017 Previous owner of my Z had this stage 1 kit & SMF conversion from Clark Motorsport early last year, I'm assuming it's the same flywheel as in Ewan' post? The pedal is never going to be super light, it's firm, but a comfortable firm. Can feel a little grabby at times & will never be as silky smooth as a DMF & standard clutch. Quote
Carbon.Ninja Posted June 4, 2017 Posted June 4, 2017 I recently opted for the ORC 409 Metal Series clutch for mine. Comes with flywheel and the throw out bearing.
