Another Jag convert (Jag XF-R)

Supercharged 370 to Supercharged XF

 

Well after selling Reggie on, I was on the search for a practical 4 seater, ideally with a V8 , had a shortlist of the Lexus IS-F, Lexus RC-F (Looked at these before but wife didnt like it) and the Vauxhall VXR8 E1 and the Gen F (again wife wasnt a fan but was hoping to convince her)

 

Not really considered a Jag , never owned one but always liked the XF and the work of the designer Ian Callam as he did the AM Vanquish which is my dream car

 

So saw a one owner XF-R at a local dealer and took it for a spin. Very quick car with stonking torque (Which i missed even with the S/C 370) and not at all barge-like as I expected

Yeah with the XF-R be fine lol, my daughter only about 3ft so I got the choice still of the XK-R and XF-R but steering towards the more practical XF both beautiful beasts cannot go wrong with either.

Excellent choice, they are bloody awesome cars. Good work on not buying an RC-F as well, no doubt they are capable but they look horrible

Collected it on Friday , dealer went to a lot of trouble very surprised as it was a 4 year old car , Nissan didnt bother when i bought my 2 year old 370z for similar money

 

Friday afternoon and today spent cleaning , quick job for now as its a little snug for working on in the garage as it only just fits with 1" to spare but boy did this need a clay , went through almost 2 bars of BH clay , whizz over with Dodo lime prime , again filthy pad and then a coat of Poorboys EX-P as I said quick job as its raining

I've had a V8 itch for a long time so this has definitely made the list now, ...going to have to scratch that itch one day "soon".

I've only had one V8 before and that was a Rover SD1 back in 1992 , it was unremarkable apart from having two sunroofs !

Done over 1500miles in just over a month in the car, really liking it.

 

Its even really good on fuel ,I'm averaging over 27mpg which is outstanding really

Was that mainly motorways or a mix? ...and did you put your foot down much?

A mix really not much motorways , cant really put down 500hp at the moment but i dont hang around
