Did it all from up top, but ideally it needs to be done from underneath with the undertray off mainly for the tensioner adjusters. Takes an hour on the drive, I've shot a video that I'll hash together at some point. I still have a dual mass flywheel, which will help absorb the rotational harmonics.

Engine cover off

Slacken both tensioners 14mm

Undertray off

Slacken both tensioner adjusters 12mm

Remove both aux belts

Put the box in 6th, hand brake on, wedge the brake pedal down, crack the 19mm crank pulley bolt loose and remove.

Wobble the crank pulley loose.

Fit the new sexy lightweight pulley *little bit of anti seize grease

Tighten the 19mm which will bring the pulley down square.

Torque to spec, 30lb-ft then 60° *I did 160mn

Refit aux belts

Rotate pulley by hand to check belt alignment and check for binding.

Refit undertray and engine cover.

2/5 difficulty

Cheers for the feedback bud!

That's very interesting, I'm all for finer tuning to make the car run as sweeet as possible!

You have the DE engine as well right? I'm wondering if the upgrade is possible on the revup too - cant see why not?! :snack:

Do you have a link for where you grabbed it from?

Yes fella 05 DE, I bought mine new from a member some years back on the forum. Link below to the same one showing for 03-06 350z, I've also made a short video of the install.

Would recommend to any DE owner, marked difference to the engine pick up.

Not heard of this exhaust before - even googling now i can't find it? Seems a very sensible choice with the big oval centre box... I know this from personal experience of perforated eardrums

I very much doubt they've ever built an exhaust for a 350z other than mine, normally make stuff like this :notworthy:

Sound clips don't do it justice at all, sounds amazing!!

Ahh - didn't fully engage my focus on the 'custom' bit. Wise choice of design IMO as I said - very easy to make a Z un-liveable noise wise, as I discovered and have now drawn back from.

MOT day and she did me proud again. Ask the fella at the end, anything to keep an eye on over the next 12 months to which he said nothing, it's really clean and solid underneath. Exhaust, brakes, tyres, steering, suspension all look great.

Never had a car go on the automated shaker plates, awful to watch.

TMS used to do a lot of VX220 stuff, not so much any more from what I understand. Yes the shaker plates look like they are going to pull the wheels and tyres off the car! My dad always reassures me that they get it a lot worse on the road and not to worry!

Emissions figures please! :D

Did you witness the test being run? Did they keep it at 2500-3000 for the whole 30 seconds on the fast idle test? (it's easy to fake the result if you just prod the throttle in the last few seconds, with the pipe adding latency to the CO / HC sensor)

Sky is proper moody.

Reflections of the horizon nicely proportioned in the door

Even the angle of the shot accentuates the muscular rear arch:clap:

For a while now had the idea to lower the suspension some more and now working from home, that thought seemed all the more appealing. Placed an order with Larkspeed for a set of Apex -30mm lowering springs (second company I went to as nowhere in the UK had stock) so these where built to order at the factory in Holland.

Sits just about perfect now and the ride on the Apex progressive springs, is a tad more forgiving than the Tein fixed rate ones.

Fitting was a breeze this time round using an impact gun.

Rears done, on to the fronts and this gave the opportunity for a bit more treatment.

Cheers pal, I think the Tein springs look great with the OE RAYS wheels however with aftermarket 19's -30mm gives it that mild stance look.

She'll be sounding sweet then pal

Found a great use for the free Ryobi gift I've had for months and months too - wheel dryer. Pic before the Drive-R Midlands Meet yesterday.
