Adrian@TORQEN Posted June 10, 2016 Author Posted June 10, 2016 Thanks Ed! Looking in what's registered in UK, they seem to be pretty rare: Registrations: 31 x C7 in 2014 20 x C7 in 2015 In 2015 we had 41 licensed C7 and 3 x SORN 1 Quote
AliveBoy Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Massive case of the jealouses! There's a corvette dealership in Virginia Water if you didn't know, so you can get the service book stamped correctly etc. Massive price hike from buying over here though so wise to bring one over from the states. I'd never been a Corvette fan until they bought out the Stingray which then got improved into the C7, really love these ones. Adrian, if you decide to put custom wheels on it, can you let me know as I might be interested in buying the wheels for my truck (cashflow dependant obviously, I know they're not cheap ) 1 Quote
Adrian@TORQEN Posted June 10, 2016 Author Posted June 10, 2016 I know the dealership in Virginia Water, spoke to them yesterday, according to them Chevrolet UK doesn't cover warranty for imported cars. I've emailed Chevrolet see what they say, the car is virtually brand new, 2916 miles and less than 2 years old, I don't see why it shouldn't be covered. Quote
AliveBoy Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 I've been speaking with Christophe Lohier Customer Care Cadillac and Chevrolet Europe 0805 980 246 Might be worth giving him a call? Quote
Adrian@TORQEN Posted June 10, 2016 Author Posted June 10, 2016 Good to know, thanks. I don't have any problems now, just wanted to know if they cover imported cars Still looking for ideas of parts to improve the car, subtle stuff Z06 steering wheel with dry carbon flat bottom, updated 2016 front bumper with side reflectors, I need European wing mirrors with side indicators, too, perhaps Z06 front lip and side skirts... Parts are stupidly cheap in USA Quote
Adrian@TORQEN Posted June 10, 2016 Author Posted June 10, 2016 Welcome to the topless club! Thanks, not staying for too long, few weeks  Quote
Payco Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 I went to the bookies for a price on you not modding it when I first saw yours post, they laughed in my face and refused to give me a quote. I guess they are never wrong. Quote
Adrian@TORQEN Posted June 10, 2016 Author Posted June 10, 2016 Not modding this, just subtle Z06 bits and getting sold immediately, I'm already missing the GTR although it's still on my driveway  Quote

Adrian@TORQEN Posted June 10, 2016 Author Posted June 10, 2016 (edited) How about some carbon lowers? Lip, side skirts, rear diffuser: Edited June 10, 2016 by Adrian@TORQEN Quote

Adrian@TORQEN Posted July 6, 2016 Author Posted July 6, 2016 Oh, well, as you all know, this has happened: therefore C7 is a no go. Looking at other cars in UK at the moment, possibly another GT-R or even a Gallardo. Quote
Snjur Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 Hard to imagine u would go from GTR to Corvette. Stick with Godzila Sent from my SM-G850F using Tapatalk Quote
Adrian@TORQEN Posted July 6, 2016 Author Posted July 6, 2016 It wasn't an "upgrade", just a different drive Quote
HaydnH Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 TVR Sag? Definitely different than a GT-R, sounds and looks awesome (much better than a Vette anyway!) and what will really appeal to you is... they're appreciating in value so will offset the fall in GBP a bit. Quote
monkeybrain1234 Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 (edited) That's a real shame Adrian but completely understand why. I have forecasted a £1.1m reduction in profit for our company due to the dollar rate. Not a good situation. I agree with HaydnH - Sagaris is a gem. Edited July 6, 2016 by monkeybrain1234 Quote
Adrian@TORQEN Posted July 6, 2016 Author Posted July 6, 2016 Well, at least "we took back control"... It's only the beginning, we're due a lot worse... Quote
Ekona Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 So how much is the cost increase in pounds? I mean, it's a stunning car and one I'd love to own, and as a dream to say you've done it then even if it's another couple of grand it's still got to be worth it. Couple that with low depreciation and what you normally spunk on mods anyway ( ) then surely it's peanuts in the grand scheme of things? You can't put a price on your hobby matey, I say unless it's going to cost you another £20K then go for it. Man maths can work here! Quote
Adrian@TORQEN Posted July 6, 2016 Author Posted July 6, 2016 I don't want the car at any cost, as it's not the dream car like an Aventador would be It would cost me over £6k more including all the extra parts / mods I wanted to do, so not the greatest deal anymore... Quote
Ekona Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 Without trying to ask the most obvious and personal question, what percentage increase is that? And what else would you buy for the money instead? If there's nothing out there that floats your boat without spending double, I still say go for it. Quote
StevoD Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 (edited) Get it then when the £ falls even more on its face the value of the car over would go up as the cost of getting one stateside would still be increasing Edited July 6, 2016 by StevoD Quote
