GMballistic Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Me & my fiancee are enjoying our first Christmas together in our own home. Our decorations are old but the tree is brand new ~ a prelit £35 tree from Asda's with 180 LEDs. Pretty pleased with it tbh. 2 Quote

marzman Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 We've bought our first house this year and i'm hosting Christmas for the first time ever, so i wanted to go all out Clark W Griswold to impress me Mum. Tree was a 10.5 footer (£85!!) but i chopped 1.5' off the bottom and 1' off the top as my lounge ceiling is only 8'. 5 Quote
GMballistic Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 To do it properly Clark W Griswold style you should have cut it down yourself, ...well actually to be true to the film, he pulled it out of the ground roots & all because he forgot the saw. Love that film. 1 Quote

Love that film. I know... one of my all time favorites! To be fair i had big ideas but then they ended up pretty small It looks really good either way. Puts my 6 footer to shame. We were going to go full on too but just couldn't justify spending money on loads of Christmas decorations & lights when we've only been in our place for 3 months odd so are still paying out for lots of other things. The plan is to buy some more Christmas decorations/lights in the sales when they're cheap to be ready for next year then. 1 Quote
leonk Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 We're now down to just putting up the top section of the tree. I try not to encourage too big an area for presents. 2 Quote

GMballistic Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 Anyone else gone for the upside down look? The meme "meanwhile in Australia" comes to mind, ...although you're in Canada. Had to google it to see if that was a thing now, apparently so... 1 Quote

leonk Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 I was going to turn mine upside down for a laugh and take a picture but could see it ending in disaster and a bo##oking while trying to explain what on earth I was up to. 1 Quote
