Well folks in that case I can wait a little while. I still need to speak to Paul to firm up details i.e. how this would work and how close together we would need to book in. I told him I'd put feelers out and get back to him. I am willing to wait a bit so its cool. So if we said 8 weeks is that cool? Steve

Hi tarmac, I'll probably be looking in the region of the next four to six weeks in terms of time scales as an indicator to get the work done so maybe booking in in the next 2-3 weeksish. Hi Mark, Thank you I appreciate your comments. Cheers Steve

Right folks, I've been looking into getting my car mapped for a while and can, in a way, justify it to myself now. I need to get my brakes sorted but hey ho I will sort them out eventually! I've been in contact with Paul at RS Tuning and Paul has offered a discount of £50 on the upRev custom mapping. Usual price is £395 + VAT = £474 So the group buy price will be £414 (discount is 50 off before VAT so 60 after) This price is available if 5 or more people are willing to go for this. I need to firm up the exact details of how this will work, each map takes about half a day to do so it wouldn't be everyone on one day, but I thought it best to get an idea of interest before firming up any details with RS Tuning. Please only add your name to the below list if you are a definitely up for this, its obviously not the cheapest thing for the car. 1)SteveW 2) 3) 4) 5) Cheers Steve

Oh yeah obviously there is the skimming option but don't wanna go down that road again been there many times before and it just gets expensive!

well I'm in the process of changing my rear discs, I have been suffering with loads of vibration from the back end no matter which disks I use. Well today I've been trying to fit my new ones and actually using a DTI and found no matter which bolt hole I put the disks on I cannot get the run out below 0.25mm on the left and 0.15mm on the right! Explains all my problems..... Any advice? The only way I can see to fix it is complete new hubs and wheel bearings or shim the disks so they run straight. Suppose the final option is to find the high points on the hub mounting face and file off but the studs make this very difficult. I've cleaned up the hub faces before trying the disks. Has anyone got any suggestions or am I buggared? Cheers Steve

Thanks mate, spacer received yesterday. I was out when they delivered it on Wednesday, typical Thanks again for the great service!!! Might get round to fitting it this weekend if all goes well, got a few other projects though too, oil cooler, rear brake disks, N1 spats, interior panelrecolouring and the car REALLY needs a wash! Thanks for the replies folks, I thought I posted this yesterday maybe I am going crazy! Yeah the cover isn't too expensive at £80 - £100 but the 3 - 5k excess mean unless you have a pretty big crash getting the insurance isn't really worth it in my opinion. I just wondered what would happen in relation to my first posts. Cheers Folks Steve

Good afternoon everyone! I've got a bit aof a quandry about trackdays and the majority of drivers being uninsured. Does anyone know the answer, me and a few mates were debating this in the pub the other week and couldn't agree. So here is the hypothetical situation.s. You go on a trackday and don't get trackday insurance obviously if you crash and write your car off thats your own fault no issues. However, what happens if others are involved? Situation A) You crash into someone writing both cars off, neither driver is insured? Situation You crash into someone writing off both cars the other driver is insured? Situation C) You crash into someone writing off both cars and injuring or killing the other driver? (A situation I hope no one ever gets into) Neither driver is insured? Situation D) You crash into someone writing off both cars and injuring or killing the other driver? (A situation I hope no one ever gets into) the other driver is insured? Can of worms open have at it ya'll Steve

Hi Mark, I was just wondering what happens if the ECU gets reset after being remapped. Does it keep the updated map data or default to original programming or something totally different? Thank you Steve

Thanks for all the responses guys, really appreciate it. I'm really looking forward to having the cash available for this it sounds excellent. I didn't know we were limited to 55% in 1st 65% in 2nd 75% in 3rd That in itself is a reason to get rid of it lol. I can feel i'll be making a trip the RS tuning hopefully in the near future mr credit card might have to come out because I'm trying to save a house deposit at the moment and finding it hard! Keep spending too much every month on the 350! Cheers

Hi Folks, I will soon have got all my remap supporting mods sorted that I am doing and I am now thinking about a remap. The thought of a remap is also becoming more attractive with the very quickly rising price of fuel. Whilst I mainly want the remap for the gains in torque I am also interested what mpg improvement folks who have had the remap done have noticed for general everyday driving? Helps justify the outlay of a remap Cheers Steve

Thanks mate, I may have to consider investing when the bank account look a bit healthier. I was considering painting my wheels black too but wasn't sure how they would look on a black car but seeing yours (different wheels) looks awesome! Cheers Steve

Hi mate I just use it for itunes moving music onto and off of my Iphone and the net. Thats it. Occasionally it might get the power sapping use of an Excel spreadsheet too. Cheers

Thanks folks. I ran the malware scanner and found 60 malware/spyware items. I removed them all and now the computer shuts down I've also disabled the auto restart as identified by Beavis. Thank you for the step by step guide Thanks again Steve PS Happy New Year!!!

Thanks Dave if the Spyware thing doesn't work I'll give that a go, yes the Vista CD is knocking around somewhere......hmm where did I put it....

Do we have any IT gurus on here that might be able to help me? Basically for no apparent reason I can no longer shutdown my laptop...... If I choose shutdown from the start menu it shuts down, then restarts itself. If I choose restart it restarts itself (as you would expect) If I hold the power key until the computer turns off, it goes off then restarts itself...... I don't know why this has started I've not installed anything new not even any windows updates. I've done a virus scan using latest definitions and nothing has been located. I've run scan disk on the harddrive (the 5 step one that checks all the clusters etc) no issues found yet it still won't turn off... Its a Dell Studio 1737 running an official copy of Vista.... any ideas folks? Many thanks in advance... Steve

As promised hereis what I bought. I already have a Karcher K200 (think its the 220) pressure washer So I bought this snowfoam lance from with the Karcher attachment: http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/washing-and-drying/foam-lance-various-fittings/prod_371.html It feels like its good quality got some weight to it, all brass body with a Nickel pipe and plastic / brass fittings. The lance that arrived is lightly different to the pic on the website: I also bought this snowfoam http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/washing-and-drying/super-snow-foam-5-litre/prod_370.html Coat one when I didn't have the foam valve open enough hence a little thin, coat two was much better

A similar thing happened to me on a country lane the other night.... A 4x4 was avoiding a snow mound and forced me over to what looked like a grass verge covered in shrubbs, it turned out a nice kerb was hidden in the shrubs so the NSF wheel went crunch.... Its knocked the alignment out very slightly luckily I never got round to refurbing the wheel in the summer so it's some additional damage to fix when the weather gets better and a trip to the 4 wheel laser alignment centre......again Good luck getting yours sorted mate!!!
