Thanks folks hadn't considered a fiesta or 106 I'll have a look. I reckon by getting a second car at worst case I'll be saving £70 a month Probably more when you include service costs of the Zed etc, tyre and brake wear, I can then just have the zed for weekends and trackdays which will hopefully make the insurance cheaper saving even more. Its crazy how running two cars can be cheaper than 1

Well with petrol prices getting crazy and the fact I've started seeing someone who has a child I think I need a second car because there is no way I'm selling my zed! Basically want something cheap to buy, cheap to run (i.e. diesel), falls into the bottom tax brackets so its like £30 for the year. Looking at around 2.5K. I have seen a few clio diesels 1.5L that seem to do 60 - 70 MPG. cheap tax and less than 2.5k. Are there any other options I am missing? Cheers Steve

Bose system is rubish the head unit just dies!

+1 But no misfire for me. Been perfect ever since the map, car is currrently getting 25.8mpg on my daily commute before I was only getting 23.5mpg so should be looking at 30 - 40 miles extra per tank, sweeeeeeeeeeet!!

Good results billyokco!!! Mine is an 04 too and you did better than me , I only got 279 lol with pretty much the same mods. However, I ran the K1 bunged and was told I would get more if I removed them but I didn't see the point seen as the K1 is WAY too loud without the bungs!!! Welll for my old age anyway! ha ha Steve

The K&N oil filters are a good! Also a god send with the 1 inch nut on top, makes removal and installation very easy!

Sorry for the late replies folks. I haven't done a full tank of regular driving yet due to being off work but based upon early indications I';ll be looking at 30 - 50 extra miles pertank if I can stop nailing it everywhere. 2nd gear is my new best friend lol As soon as I am back at work and got a good indication I will let you know. Steve

Hoping to get there this year, I will probbaly arrive on the Sunday morning for the drive out because I am off to the ring and don't get back until saturday to the 20th. May can't come round quick enough now. So much to look forward to -
No mate I managed to do it by just taking the undertray off, then removing the deflector. They are only held on by clips. I was then able to feed it all back in from the bottom and route it to where I wanted from the top If you have skinny wrists then you can just do it through the slats in the front and fishing it out through the gap where the bonnet latch is I can't even get two fingers through the slats had to use a long screwdriver to get to the clips.

Yes its a 2004 UK GT. 276 model. Only engine mods are, pop charger, plenum spacer, Japspeed Y pipe and bunged K1. It would have probably made a bit more if I had removed the bungs but I didn't see the point as I drive it with the bungs in all the time. The K1 is far too loud for me to have as day to day with the bungs out. Also if I used the standard airbox with a good panel filter it would have made more but the sound from the popcharger is worth the power loss. I'm enjoying the UpRev more and more the more I drive. Really can tell the difference so much more responsive and pulls a lot harder.

Cheers man, that is good to know.

Cold Air Feed: Cost - £10 for the hose from Halfords about 1 hour of my time. Using the right hand deflector plate in the front bumper (as you look at the front of the car) I used a hole saw to cut a hole slightly smaller than the feed pipe. Then pulled the feed pipe through folding back the edges to secure it. I then fed the pipe up to just in front of the plastic pipe by the filter its cable tied in place to make it nice and secure. No idea if it does anything but when I stop the end of the filter is stone cold and hopefully helps a wee bit. I just need an anodized trumpet thing to make it look a bit more bling

Well first drive to work this morning and fuel indications are good when going steady. On the normal commute to work I get around 26 - 26.5 mpg. This morning driving no different I got 29.2 mpg. Hopefully that will keep going and the remap will have paid for itself in no time
-
I am indeed mate, we all want more though - mmmmmmm supercharger long wait yet though! Hi Mate yes its class, now we have the licence remapping is only £100 per hour and Paul said he can remap one in about an hour once the base maps in there provided not going FI then takes a bit longer. Just hope to save some fuel once I can take my foot off the accelerator! Steve

For all those of you who don't nip into the Group Buy forum I have now been UpRev tuned. A massive thank you to Paul at RS Proper sound guy, answered all my (possibly stupid) questions. I had never actually realised how good the car sounds until today having only ever heard it on videos and from the drivers seat but at full chat on the dyno it sounds just how it should (well in my opinion anyway) So what about the results????? Well sadly someone had left the stable doors open and 8 ponies had escaped over stock power figures Start reading on run 2 was 268BHP run 3 yielded 265BHP and run 1 - 267BHP. So quite similar. Peak torque was around 250 foot pound. Well after mapping I finished up with 279BHP so Paul managed to round up all 8 of the escaped ponies and found 3 more hiding in the bushes. Whilst power isn't up much over stock its the torque that matters and that is far better! Peak Torque is up around 267 foot pound now. You can feel this difference, however the best part of the map is after 5k to the limiter after about 5K the car comes to life. If you look at the torque curves there is about 20 - 25 foot pound more from 5K to the end and it really tears through this part of the range, love it. The car also picks up much quicker when low down in the revs, really love second gear now Overall I am well happy. The difference isn't earth shattering but it makes the car far far better. No idea about better fuel economy as yet as I haven't had my foot off the floor! Just to reiterate Jeff's comments (from teh group buy post) Paul and the other bloke (sorry can't remember his name) were excellent really know their stuff and I am well happy with the car now. Once again a massive thank you to everyone at RS Tuning for the work and the group buy. You never know I might even get some decats in the future.......and remap but we'll see. As you can see as stock the fuelling was all over. I have a very smooth power curve now:

Hi if this falls through can I take second dibs, but I know you steve, this will take a miracle Sorry mate, Just sent the money over been after some Hel lines and a rad cap for a while, these were too good to miss. I shouldn't have after the UpRev but I couldn't resist........Just need a cheap Nismo kit to come up now . . . . . You did make more than me at RS though Cheers Steve

I'm pretty confident in my r-tune intake. Cragus has seen it, its not the normal aftermarket one. It was factory ordered with the car. I'm pretty sure the pro's at nismo wouldn't make a blunder which could lose the car power. I love it and even if I don't have as much gains I'd rather have a nice looking engine bay than all they box plastic boxes all over it Hi Neil I know that there isnt a problem, just to put it into perspective the only problem they have had was just that one with an HKS system. No more than a comment for people to contemplate and you are quite right a properly fitted peace of mod will not cause any issues. Anyway I am going to my secret test road today to give mine the full trials somewhere in the sticks of deeper Lincolnshire. Sounds like fun Monday can't come quick enough now. ALSO Thank you to the mods for tidying the thread and removing the irelevant material. Steve

By the way folks group buy is currently filled. If any more interest comes in I need to check with Paul he is happy to extend the discount further. I will ask when I go for mapping on Monday
